pacific theatre japan vs US on pacific island maps is actually quite common when playing japan at around BR 5.0-6.0

Two things:

  1. Its semi-historical, not historical. Difference: Historical = Aircraft which actually faught each other - Semi-Historical = plain axis vs allied without any historical relevance as BRs are not attached to service times.
  2. Gaijin has never stopped the allied vs axis approach - it gets triggered when player count is low - 6 vs 6 is needed to start an Air RB match.

Happens quite often, select less populated servers outside peak times.

Correct - goes down to 2.7. Have in mind that with JP at BR 3.7 u get mostly full uptiers (no JP 4.7 fighter) whilst in a 4.7 US plane you run quite often in full downtiers…
