I also have no clue, maybe because I dont want more subtrees that wouldnt add anything coming to Italy?? He entirely missed how I said I wanted more Romanian and Hungarian vehicles, but this dude really doesnt make sense anyway
You keep repeating this yet never gave clear examples of what you would’ve liked to see in the proposal that was actually missing, I’ve included almost all the vehicles that were suggested and that the other guy mentioned.
I’ll give you a rundown of the vehicles he has mentioned as he, at least, brings up some vehicles (still going to point out that the proposal starts from rank VI, although I had made some additions even in the lower ranks but it wasn’t the goal of this post. ex I foldered the S21 behind the romanian Model 1989):
The K2 was shown off this year to attract interest but they started the MBT procurement program only few months ago.
This program candidates are:
The K2 from Hyundai
The KF-51 from Rheinmetall
The Leopard 2A8 from KNDS
All of these should be bought using the SAFE funds therefore there needs to be a degree of industrilization.
The program also intertwines with the MLI(IFV) program, here they are still deciding to either go with Rheinmetall, proposes 65% industrial localization and both the Lynx and the Panther, or Hanwha that proposes a whooping 80% industrial production and tech transfer for their K21.
This will probably still take more than some time.
T-55/72 CURRUS modifications: I have them
T-55AM2R: it’s just a T-55AM with a different fcs that wouldn’t make a difference ingame.
TR-580: I have it
all TR-85 variants: I have almost all of them
MiG-21 LanceR: I have them
Piranha: it’s behind the VBC PT2
MLI-84M: it’s behind the Freccia
TAB variants: there is the RN-94 as an event vehicles, the others are really weak or bad(mostly they mounted LMGs, there is one with the OWS but becomes kinda repetitive with the other platforms)
9P148 and 9P122 (could be from Hungary also): I just don’t tend to add pure ATGM carriers as they tend to be bad gameplay wise after the ATGM physics update, these are just konkurs platforms.
CA-95 (to replace Strela-10M): This is just an uninformed take, the CA-95 doesn’t mount the same missiles but missiles way weaker, yet I have it at 9.0
IAR-99: the Soim was discarded due to Gaijin’s policy till the last update to not add pure trainers(they wanted specific attack variants of said trainers), the exception has been the MB326B although there was mostly the community behind it.
IAR-330: I have the only decently armed variant, the SOCAT, all the others mounted such few, bad missiles that wouldn’t make it worth it.
The Ariete is unfortunately a dead end.
The C2 Ariete is probably going to be the last modification we’re going to see of it and it’s basically a Leopard 2A4 with better optics and ammo, after all the AMV program was started more as a way to keep them running as the spare parts were basically impossible to obtain, at some point only around 30 Ariete were in running conditions, they also basically cannibalized half the vehicles and is also why there are going to be only 125 C2 Ariete of the 200 C1s.
There were plans for even develop a C3 but the I-MBT program was so fast that they are going full throttle with it at this point and instead of upgrading the Ariete even more they’ll probably just buy more of them.
Sometime ago there were also talks to exchange the L/44 with the L/55 but it seems that even that is now on ice.
Armor wise, the C1 is actually overperforming ingame, turret wise.
The hull can be improved but it will just block some older rounds and IFVs shots(maybe non tandem ATGMs).
The WAR package is still half a mistery but for what we know it would improve the turret armor a bit, there were even discussion regarding the strange turret composition that with the WAR could actually behave like a reversed 2A5 turret armor(as the Ariete’s turret seems hollow between the two plates).
Still I have doubt of it being comparable to a modern Leopard/Abrams, after all that’s on us for not upgrading it all these years.
Reminder that the C2 program is basically the same phase 2 of the C1 program from the early 2000s.
Ingame right now they are some glorified light tanks and tbh it bothers me how Gaijin artificially tried to keep the series up instead of just giving it a decent BR for its original capabilities.
I hope the army asks Leonardo to integrate their new cannon for commonality but I don’t have too much hope for it right now.

Later this week, when I have time, I’ll also add a version with only Romania and Hungary so that Gaijin can start from there and evaluate if more is needed after such additions.
This is completely false, they are currently in the process of testing the already completed OTO L/55 and making new ammunition for it. For example one of advertised things is it can fire VULCANO (which they in the process of making and IR 120mm for, they already have GNSS).
It will come when more C2 are delivered.

Plus to be honest, we don’t need more light vehicles. We already have enough and the potential domestic Italian ones to be added are lot more interesting and good.
I’ve spaded the whole tree, and what I really want is better mid tier medium tanks, not more light tanks.
T-55AM2R isn’t just different FCS. Plus I HIGHLY doubt you know that the AM2 (base) isn’t even a Soviet tank 😁😁. The AM2R adds a lot onto the AM2.

I love this tech tree and I think that it really does have the ability be one of if not the best in warthunder.
But this will be done with UNIQUE Hungarian, Italian, and Romanian vehicles. I don’t want another Leopard 2A6 or AV-8. Turkey has potential, but being brutally honest there is no chance it gets added to Italy and I think that is a good thing. It has better potential as a independent tree, or a subtree somewhere down the line.
What I DO want is implementation of unique Italian vehicles as there is so many.
I want all the Romanian tanks, as in reality they would carry medium and close top tier in terms of armored medium tanks
As for Hungary, they still have a decent amount to be added (ISz-2 please gaijin)

Ratty vehicle platforms, with a good atgm (konkurs) would be great at 8.3-8.7, and I’m talking about this from experience
9P148 is for sure a must have.
Also I think Hungary has like jeep with a konkurs strapped on top. This would be my dream

It’s a shame that Italy got Hungary, despite a few neat additions it didn’t really help all that much. I think Spain would have provided more unique vehicles and would have made more sense, less copy paste vehicles and defence ties. The Italian community was pretty vocal on the old forums about the fact the Hungary would have been a bad choice for Italy, but many people chose to not listen so here we are. Sadly I think its too late for anything to change.

Well, there were 2 main ideas Spain-Brazil and Hungary-Romania, but Gaijin decided to add Hungary as the main subtree with a lot of copypaste, while using Romania only as premium/event filler it seems.
I mean with such implementation Spain would be probably a better option, keeping Italy out of Soviet stuff. Spain wouldn’t give us a heavy tank (although Gaijin’s made Tigris a premium, but there still can be IS-2s and if we are lucky 44M TAS) and ground low tiers would be a bit less interesting (Verdeja, Pz.IV), but overall you have few versions of Leopard 2E instead of 2A7HU, same 2A4, Pattons + AMX-30s instead of T-72M1, maybe some domestic stuff like VEC and BMR-600 instead of BTR-80A, M41 instead of 2S1.
Air line would be more interesting with Buchons, HA-200, Spanish HE.111 variant (which we probably wouldn’t see just like Hungarian props, because it requires some work) + multiple NATO jets like Mirages, F-5, Phantom, F-18.
My above message is kinda useless talking though as it’s already happened, but actually looking at how big nations like Germany are going to receive subtrees and rumored tech trees rework I wouldn’t exclude the addition of more nations to Italy, such as Spain or maybe Turkey.
I still hope that Gaijin will implement a significant portion of Romanian stuff (or @NovA29 model it himself 😆 ) which will help a lot with diversity and unique modifications, as well as remained Hungarian unique stuff and obviously Italian vehicles, it’s still a ton to add for every part of the tree.

To this day I wish we got Spain instead of Hungary (so it can go to V4 instead) and also wished gajin would actually add unique Romanian stuff for the research tree barring 1 Sm.79 variant
