Don’t mind me asking but, what is the difference between the American Helldiver and the rest? I’ve always thought they were exact copies of one another.

WDYM, Every SB2C-5 in War Thunder is nearly identical to the SB2C-4 of the USN.
Also, having nearly identical, but slightly worse payload options thanks to losing a 1000lb sea mine, which has 580kg TNT with 494kg weight, and replacing it with a 2000lb AN-M66A2, which has 632kg TNT with 996kg weight.
I won’t mind if you are gatekeeping those helldivers for keeping inside the US, because of nothing but you just don’t want to.

Small payload option adjust. almost identical.
(SB2C-4 can use 1000lb Mk. 13 Mod 0 magnetic mine, which is lighter, while SB2C-5 can use 2000lb AN-M66, which is almost twice the weight)

Japan and France both get rank 3 whilst U.S. only gets rank 2.
??? What a ridiculous comment. The S2BC-5 could still be added for the US; it hasn’t even been suggested yet. For what it’s worth, the C-5 had 35 gallons of extra fuel capacity and was slightly heavier than the C-4. That actually makes the C-4 aerodynamically better in-game due to the minimum fuel meta in War Thunder.
The differences between the C-5 and C-4 are mostly cosmetic, which doesn’t translate into anything meaningful in-game. Earlier Helldiver variants, by comparison, had different powerplants, propellers, and armament suites, meant to address Curtiss’ flawed design of the Helldiver. As others have already pointed out, the C-5 introduced an enlarged bomb bay that allowed it to carry a single 2,000 lb bomb, along with strengthened wings to support 2 x 1,000 lb bombs, but that’s essentially the extent of the changes.

Yeah, never really understood why they don’t just move the US SB2Cs up and add the -5 to the group as well. Ditto with the M24 now that I think about it, everyone else has it at Rank III, but the US has it at II
