It’s Fixed! №94

Today, we’ll be going over the bug fixes and improvements that we’ve made to the game over the past 2 weeks. And today especially we’ve fixed a lot! Let’s take a look.

If you’ve found a bug that you’d like to report, you can do so on our community bug reporting platform.

More Interface Improvements

We never top working on making War Thunder’s UI as good as possible. We recently added the ability to place and remove vehicles from a crew slot by simply dragging them with a mouse. This time, we’ve expanded this feature, as you can now drag and drop vehicles into different slots as well.

Vehicles and crew slots no longer display buttons — instead, we’ve added a new context menu that opens on click and offers full functionality for interacting with vehicles or crews.

And finally, choosing vehicles to respawn in battle has become easier. You no longer need to try and pick out a specific interface element with the cursor — anything related to this vehicle will do, be it its icon, cost in SP, or crew level!

Bombers in Confrontation Fixes

In the Confrontation mode in Air Simulator Battles, a bug that affected all maps and all Battle Ratings was discovered. Under certain conditions, one of the teams did not have missions to protect bombers; the enemy accordingly did not have missions to destroy bombers. There were some exceptions to this: naval bombers attacking naval vehicles appeared as expected, and missions with them worked correctly. So on maps without naval enemies, such as Sinai or Stalingrad, this issue was especially noticeable.

We found the bug that caused this and fixed it.

Reduced the delay time of the Assault Fuses

We’ve reworked the delay time for the assault fuse to ensure minimal delay while maintaining the safety of low-altitude bomb releases. This will reduce the likelihood of the target leaving the kill zone of the bomb.

We changed the way the delay time works depending on the mass of the explosive in the bomb. With its mass up to 10 kg, the delay time will be only 1.5s, and then it will gradually increase. Upon reaching 40 kg of explosives, the delay time will be 2.7s, 120 kg — 3s, 300 kg — 3.5s, 500 kg — 4.5s, 2000 kg — 6s, and 5000 kg — 7s. This is the maximum delay time of the assault fuse: for all larger bombs, it’s 7s.

That’s not all!

You can find the full list of fixes and improvements in each separate update note. Here’s some more: The exhaust of a vehicle’s engine that is turned off is no longer shown to other players, a crew sound message when the FCS is damaged has been added, and bananas scattered around the hangar have been removed.

Once again, many thanks for all your bug reports that you submitted using our special service.

@Stona_WT Hi, this is the second time i ask you. Why Karelia and Carpathians are missing from the rotation since 2 weeks ago???
Both maps appear in the maps section but are missing for be played.

@Stona_WT for the assault fuse, now timing begins from the moment the bomb is dropped or when it hits the ground?

So you have never explained that you have cut nearly half of the bomb R&D revenue since last year and increased the maintenance cost to the level before May 26 last year, are these also bugs that need to be fixed? Fixed the bug that players opened the line too fast? That’s so much fun. And now you’re happy that you went from 0.71 to 0.111 in two weeks, how do you explain the drop in R&D coefficient after 0.84? And why is the income now more tied to the length of time? We need an official public return calculation formula

Should be back in rotation now.

Being able to slide the tanks across the board instead of clicking them around is a welcomed change!

Can you please take a look at the roundels next? I’d love to see the restriction being removed since they don’t fit the current state of the game anymore.

Plus a lot of players would love to fight under theor own countries roundel no matter the nation they are playing :)

Thanks!!!

When can a fix for Gearing’s rear 20mms firing the opposite direction they’re supposed to be expected? It cripples the ship’s light AA.

Dropped. The goal is to give enough time for the plane to get far enough to not be hit by the explosion.

awesome, i guess sim red team can now chase AI too and not just rely on base bombers and players kills

Finally removed those miserable buttons on the vehicles in the hangar, which means we’re basically exactly where we were before these changes.
Seriously, are things being changed for the sake of being changed?

The UI updates are slower and more clunky than before how is this an improvement?

the fact I have to make an extra click just to swap what is in the slot is just sloppy UI and UX design

Yeah, it’s freaking annoying 🙄

When you want to drag a vehicle to another crew slow, say to the one next to it, it moves the entire crew line thing up to the middle of the screen as you’re dragging it across, which is very annoying too. Like a “low 5 … too slow… ooh yeah” prank…
