New hud does give good info but it does not fit the game, it feels arcady, not for a realistic game and it ruins my immersion.
its an assumption
Baseless claims then.
you can’t just throw way too generalizing “bad game design” at everything you don’t like and call it a day.
Oh right, instead we just blame the players and call them scumbags, cheaters, exploiters instead, Gaijin is flawless, perfect and never makes mistake.
If there’s an unintended bug/glitch/mistake that you regularly use to your advantage, that’s an exploit.
Having a scouting feature and using that to scout vehicles is cheating, okay.
unintended and therefore got fixed
Where is it claimed to be ‘unintended’ ? Just because you change on how something worked doesn’t mean the way it worked before was unintended.
your team already clearly sees
Nonsensical argument, no one knows what their team ‘sees’.
this new system doesn’t make you pay SL for such targets, it just reduced the rewards.
Oh right, that’s ENTIRELY different, instead of fining you $200, your paycheck is $200 less.
it’s the behaviour people abusing this exploit showed.
Oh yeah I wrote this down ‘’ People playing the game and scouting vehicles is cheating ‘’.
actually, yes, that’s how SL boosters, premium modifiers, etc work.
Not everything gets multiplied, that’s the same thing with the skill bonus, that is also before any multipliers and winning bonus also doesn’t get multiplied the same way.
Kills/assists and such do.
If it really just sits at those 150SL or 600SL or whatever, why do you even care about this change at all?
That’s not the point, people are pretending the economy isn’t changed and RP and SL is not affected, even Gaijin employees suggesting so.
And in the long run it will add up, we don’t need the economy to be nerfed.
you’re basing all that on the assumption everything you described plays out within a minute
Yeah, looks like we’re both allowed to make assumptions.
I kinda doubt
Doubt all you want, it’s still a situation that can occur when a legitimate scout is not being rewarded.
Otherwise he didn’t relocate all that much
Oh lets move the goal posts even further, it’s not just targets now that your team ‘clearly sees’ but also targets your team kinda knew where they were at are also not legimate anymore.
Let me rework my notes to add in the fact that scouting a target that pops up within a few hundred meters of it’s previous location is still considered cheating and exploiting.
So an enemy needs to relocate at least 500 meters before my scouting is not considered cheating?
People always spout “blame the game, not the player”, “it’s not my fault if the exploit is in the game, it’s the game’s fault” yet when they try to fix the game to prevent exploitative behaviour, everyone blames the game again. Literally can’t make it right for everyone.
It’s a feature and zero indication that it’s an exploit, go find me proof that scouting targets is exploiting the game and intended behaviour as stated by Gaijin, and don’t act as if changing the way something works is proof of that.
because 5 seconds is shorter than most tanks reload , there would be no point then.
And 60 seconds is the average reload, we’re all playing KV-2s with injured crew?
there’s less exploiters, though on an average-game-basis it’s probably not noticeable that much.
Wow, so nothing has improved and just nerfed rewards and increased grind, fantastic.
the point of the fix wasn’t that scouts are supposed to happen less?
No, just to nerf their rewards and increase their grind.
truly a devasting loss to the economy then. how will the economy ever recover from that, noone will be able to buy techtree tanks without real money anymore
Okay so when are we allowed to say something? They can just remove 150SL per day from the economy and we can’t complain because ‘oh it’s only 150 SL’ it doesn’t matter at all and numbers don’t add up or anything.
This is like any company increasing their subscription cost by tiny amounts so that people won’t complain about it… because oh it’s only 0.50 cents right?
blame the people that exploited this mechanic so heavily
Those people from your assumption again?
if it wasn’t a problem, it wouldn’t need fixing, and they wouldn’t spend manpower on it.
Yes, because Gaijin is known for spending their time wisely and where it’s needed most lmao.
They could just limit the SP reduction and now the Intelligence and According to intelligence awards.
I was always still trying to scout at range, even if it wasn’t consistent, since those are usually the targets that are more important to keep track off. But if your only goal is to do your BP task, then yeah, it would be easier to go for closer targets, since even in RB a target has to be “AB-revealed” either by you or a teammate within radio distance.
The 60 seconds are indeed debatable, something like ~10 seconds + the remaining time of any then active scout markers would work well imo, it would be enough time to not be easily exploitable in an active firefight while giving a visual indication if you need to keep people lit up asap.
But I honestly wouldn’t fuss much about it. I’m happy that there’s one less exploit for people to abuse and not play and contribute properly, while the slight negatives it brings won’t be noticeable for me, even as someone who scouts alot in light tanks and missle SPAA.
How come scouting got buffed?
There were 2 changes :
1 Missing spots on targets got fixed (not a buff but bug removal)
2 “Not to intelligence” got introduced which is clearly a nerf affecting SL, RP and SP earning.
In a current format :
1 friendly hits enemy Y
1.1 60 second timer starts
2 enemy changes his position
3. 40 seconds after 1# enemy gets spotted
4. 59 seconds after 1# friendly kills enemy
4.1 Spotter gets not reward for spotting.
It must be accounted that simple 60 sec timer triggered by any hit is not a good mechanic taking into consideration all possible gameplay outcomes in the field and it will punish spotters in situations where it shouldn’t.
I will repeat myself here but really, just because it is fair in 1 simple scenario it can not be used in more complicated ones.
This is so ignorant answer, can you not comprehend a scenario where a light tank scouts an enemy that got hit 40 second before and couple hundreds meters away, and enemy gets killed by a diffrent friendly (thanks to enemy being spotted) but scout still does not get a reward?
It is not that simple - many fighters with 20mm guns - AP or even universal belts can easily shred top of the tanks rendering them much more effective than attackers or bombers for example Hurricane with 4x20mm at 3.0.
I did in one of the first complains about this mechanic, but I guess nobody cares.
Belts cost are super broken anyways, some planes cannot get any AP without those belts, whilst others can spawn free belts with AP in them that are 50% AP or more regardless.
Post pen on all of these things is really bad as well, ammo count is low, so I think two bombs are way more likely to get a kill for a fraction of the cost.
Guns definitely aren’t 4 times better.
With the previous version you could tell how your side was doing with a quick glance, this you have to interpret. Not an improvement.
hud looks nice overall, the animation though aint good
