Unfortunately the Iron fist on the Eitan will most likely not be a able to stop kinetic rounds, this is due to the fact that the iron fist fitted onto the Eitan is the Iron Fist Light Decoupled (IFLD) not the Iron Fist Light Kinetic (IFLK). I’m pretty sure gaijin has already taken note of this so don’t get your hopes up…
eitan is the one with the better sensors tho, its got IR cameras next to the radar units
I may be wrong, but it seems Gaijin has modeled the APU on the back as the power system, not the one inside the vehicle.
so basically, much better at interception, just not with kinetic rounds?
Correct it should outperform trophy by a pretty significant margin but it will most likely not be able to stop kinetic rounds because this system has not been proven or stated to stop kinetic rounds while the heavier system equipped onto the black knight mbt has been proven to stop kinetic rounds.
Correct but again the Iron Fist Light Decoupled (IFLD) has never been stated or proven to stop kinetic rounds because it wasn’t designed to. It was designed to be a lighter weight system compared to ones fitted onto MBTs and other heavier vehicles. Knowing gaijin they will jump at this information and not allow this version to stop kinetic rounds. I’m hoping that isn’t the case though because I would love to see this thing shoot kinetic rounds out of the air I’m just saying it’s not looking very likely based on the information about Iron Fist Light Decoupled.
The following Bug reports have been added to the post (Sorry for the delay, sadly I have a life outside War Thunder, tragic I know…)
Bug: “Using Wrong Engine and Transmission”
Link: Community Bug Reporting System
Status: Accepted
(Report for 816hp engine)
Bug: “Missing Commander Sight, Coaxial Machine Gun, LRF, Target Tracking, and Incorrect Turret Modelling”
Link: Community Bug Reporting System
Status: Stated as being in progress, Not a Bug Label
(Basic Turret modeling stuff, they’ll get to it eventually, just making sure it’s reported)
Bug: “Cannon Traverse Limitations Incorrect/Model Clipping.”
Link: Community Bug Reporting System
Status: Open
(Gun limitation nerf towards front, buff towards back)
Bug: “30mm Cannon Not Working and Missing Ammo Types.”
Link: Community Bug Reporting System
Status: Accepted
(Gun doesn’t work, report on it)
Bug: “Missing Scout UAV”
Link: Community Bug Reporting System
Status: Accepted
(Self explanatory)
Of note is since the first dev, the transmission is visually modeled on the lower section of the model, it have some internal components, the launcher was extended, the wheels turn in the correct axis, and the Stat Card and TT images for the vehicle have been added. It’s getting there slowly but surely, quite surprised how slowly tho ngl
Disclaimer, do not take the “IRL” images I’ve made as fact, these are my guesses and determinations. All armor elements are likely housed in composite shells too.
New report added:
Bug: “Eitan/Namer IFV Maximum Zoom too low”
Link: Community Bug Reporting System
Status: Open
(From 10x max to 21x)

APS incorrect interception speed
Good I was just about to make a report about the same issue, I don’t know where they got that 70-800 m/s
As of the latest dev server, the Eitan now has a Recon Drone, Working APS, Working gun with newly added APFSDS and HEI-T, Working Spikes (with additional 2 not seemingly in the damage model but usable, meaning a total of 4 will be given), remodeled electronic systems, somewhat better turret modules a new weight of 38.5 tons (Not expected but not unbelievable), and a engine power of 750hp (report for 816 still open).
As of the now the Armor is still completely WIP, but notably the frontal hull roof armor is now one piece of armor as opposed to multiple originally.
Anyone got any clue where they pulled the 38.5 tons figure from, with estimates of a 35t hull at most and with the turret added on it’s not unreasonable, but it’s the first I’ve seen of it, possibly a gaijin estimate ig. Anyway this makes it now the heaviest Wheeled APC/IFV ingame
Someone tried to make a bug report for the ERA behind composite?
The armor is not done, so there no point at the moment. Furthermore we have no sourcing on the array of the armor, just those pics of it being fitted. It’s likely NxRA of some kind or a form of SLERA (not ingame so it would be NxRA in that case)
Can someone take updated photos of the Eitan in game?
In all seriousness, couldn’t SLERA be modeled by gaijin by simply stacking multiple ERA blocks on top of each other.
Sure Israeli SLERA is not working with explosives but rather with chemicals to create a rapidly expanding stream of gas, yet that obviously doesn’t matter in game. And with its working principle ensuring that only the penetrated portion of the SLERA is being effected/depleted, simulating this by just layering ERA would be rather easy.
Bc russian tanks do not use it.
Needs another thing added, that being the devs nerf an unrelated Israeli vehicle while reports wait.
TRUKE. It’s like they wait it out on purpose just to do this man. When something’s unfinished they won’t accept reports either sometimes… gaijin is so… gaijin…
Regardless I believe there enough online existing information for them to make a somewhat decent damage model out of this vehicle on their end without our input, but it’ll definitely have its weakspots. Even if the do mess it up, photographic proof we have of the side array and frontal armor thickness should be enough to get anything wrong there fixed.
In other news it seems their 38.5t estimate is a copy paste from the Boxer… given that gaijin gave the Namer IFV the same weight as its APC base we could aim to do the same here through a report. Sadly I’m away on vacation until the 12th, so if anyone here has sourcing and wants to make a report for that, I implore them to (don’t just go be posting links like yall sometimes do lol)
