T-72 A/M has much better armor than most of 9.3 mbts and one of the best guns. Its mobility is also higher than or equal to average level.
I understand most countries have it. It may not destroy the balance in a match. But compared with those 8.3 tanks, it is more closed to 10.3 mbts (like T-72 B, challenger mk2) after the last tier adjust. APDS and HEAT can not really threaten it which is common in under tiers.
Maybe T-72 A/M should be 9.7 now.

Been grinding out the Hungarian T72M these past couple days, and honestly, the experience has been completely miserable.
The vast majority of games are full uptiers because that 10.3 RU premium lineup is massively overpopulated, and sucks up everything beneath to fight with/against them.
Yes it’s very strong in a full downtier, but you could say the same thing about almost everything in the game. 9.3 is fine. This tank has absolutely zero business fighting 10.7’s.

One of the worst gun in its respective br you meant? Compare to everything else they have extra 30-50mm of angle pen, better reload speed and better FCS like having thermals and better optical zoom, the only thing the T-72A/M1 has over them is autoloader that the loading speed doesn’t affect by dead crew and better protection, it’s really only an average vehicle if you compare to everything else it has to fight.

Not really, it would accuracy represent what it actually faces. A Cheiftain mk3 vs a t72 for example isn’t exactly balanced.

especially as chieftains APDS pen at 0m is what it was actually doing at around a kilometer

I just think it’s fair to showcase what everyone is facing, uptier, downtier, at tier… You can’t just showcase 1/3rd of the vehicles.
