M113 cant float in game either and does take prep, as for bmp i have no idea about prep but can float

The BMP’s are designed to be amphibious with minimal work. Folding out the trim vane and extending the air intake are the only external changes needed. Possible those can be done from inside the vehicle as well, not sure though.
I mean all the ikv 91 needs is the front unfolded and the covers on the engine

Modifications that needs to be installed to the vehicle are the difference.
Like the 2S1, isn’t amphibious ingame either because water vanes need to be installed.

Theyre pre existent but need to be erected, not a modification
But if this becomes amphibious then so does the Strv 103 so its not going to happen

There was this suggestion to make amphibious capability a removable modification:
Basically like the various add-on armour modifications for various vehicles in-game. If you want amphibious capability, install the mod, else remove it. It’s been passed to the devs, so we’ll see if they accept it. This could apply to other tanks as well, like the Sherman DD tanks (though the DDs would probably need some extra prep time to raise or lower the canvas screens, since you can’t really fight with screens up).
With extreme preparation; similar to the Strv 103, it can’t retaliate while in the water, which is why it doesn’t have it.
The 91-105 however fixes this issue with the stabilizer happily.
