The ahistorical ammunition (DM63) was reported and refused, being cited as a balance factor. The XM800T is at BR 8.7 because Gaijin wants to maintain it in its current position in the TT, and the artificially inflated firepower via DM63 is deemed necessary for this.
Doesn’t make sense to me, there is clearly space in Rank V for a 2nd light tank at 7.7 or 8.0, which would leave 2 light tanks in Rank VI. At present the XM800T’s BR overshadows the M3 Bradley’s 8.3, meaning players unlock an 8.7 vehicle before an 8.3 vehicle.

Gun has pretty much same performance as the XM800T.
With hvap at 7.7 it would go against much heavier targets like the T32, it would just be pure suffering. It needs the apds to be competitive
No XM246 is the strongest the guns are closer so more accurate it has armour and can somehow tank alot of rounds.
I will never understand the insistence that some people have which asks for reconnaissance vehicles to always have a means of killing heavy tanks, save for a complete ignorance of military doctrine.
That’s not what the XM800T was meant to fight. The 20 mm is for unarmoured and lightly armoured ground target, helicopters, infantry, materiel, etc. Light tanks kill heavy tanks by scouting them for their teammates.

you’re not supposed to fight T32 and Maus with the light RECON Vehicle
you’re supposed to Flank and Infiltrate enemy lines to use the Recon function to make it easier for your team to fight the match
the gun is only there to defend against other light tanks and maybe pop a track and barrel before running away
Worst stock grind in all of war thunder, it shoots shatter peas and the (i hope) good rounds are bottom of the list. Its as painful as it gets.
thr APDS are what makes it 8.7, 9.3 worthy, instead of 7.0 or lower

there are tanks with it’s gun and only the stock ammo at like 6.7

The ammo is the worst (yet) and having the ammo that actually works locked behind 6 mods or whatever is just pure snail greed
I spaded most jets in the game and i only GE’d the mirage C5… this was very close to be the 2nd vic i GEd mods for.
I only shot at light tanks, AA etc and killed 2 in 50 deaths, i wouldnt use them at 6.7!
it used to be better before they made APCR Shatter 100% lf the time at even the shallowest angles
if you get a Flat surface it’s not actually bad ammo
you have to use it as a Pure scout tank, go flank somewhere nibody goes and scout all enemies all match long
as long as you’re stock you can treat this gun like an MG

It honestly would have been better if they didn’t give it APDS and give it the same stabilizer nerf the R3T20 still has and just make it a 7.0-7.3 SPAA.
Sure, The M163 is already there, But plenty of nations have several AA’s that are the same BR as each other, If The XM was an AA you could choose either the more powerful Vulcan on a worse platform or a speedy more concealable platform with a worse gun.

its a Stabilized Fast tank with a Gun that can kill half the enemy team from the side
its the Perfect combination for a Vehicle that will give a competent and Daring player a couple of Nukes

O yh its only the 7.7 that doesnt. Alls not lost. I mean i only unlocked the better rounds last night and hope they do something more than the peas anyway
And it has 66mm of pen. It can’t even kill Russian heavies or mediums when behind em.
why should it be able to kill Heavies from a bad angle ???
its a Light fast Autocannon, you need to know your way around the game to use those, but if you do theyre unstoppable monsters
