Is using AutoHotkey to toggle "Free Look" allowed or bannable?

Hi everyone,

I would like to use an AutoHotkey (AHK) script to turn my “Free Look” camera into a toggle function instead of having to hold down the key constantly.

Unfortunately, my keyboard software does not support creating custom toggle macros, so I have no built-in way to configure this feature.

I’ll link to my reply on a similar question in another thread (press the little down arrow in the top right in the box to show full post):

Given the current Terms of Service, I would avoid using an AHK or keyboard macro for this until Gaijin provides a specific clarification.

The current wording lists macros and scripts among examples of prohibited software when they automate gameplay, alter game functionality, bypass restrictions or anti-cheat, or provide an unfair advantage. It does not state a clear exception for a Free Look key-down/key-up toggle.

That does not prove that this exact script would result in a ban, so I would not present it as definitively bannable. The Game Master’s answer—checking the policy—is the correct position. For now, use the in-game control options or the built-in air-battle free-look behavior, and avoid testing third-party macros on a main account.

A toggle option would be safer to request as an in-game control suggestion than to implement externally.

Macros/scripting were specifically added to the terms of services while back; they weren’t originally specified, but they are currently not allowed.
