Am I allowed to use my Logitech macro in actual WT games or not? It is set to repeat the countermeasure key, I have not used in actual games only testing it in test flight. Don’t wanna get banned for being a donut <3
“One of Us” . . .

There is already functionality to achieve what you describe in the game, there is no need for a macro.

Set these as wanted and then use this key bind (mine is not the default) in matches:

Ah, always looked past that setting tbh. Thanks for the advice.
Happy to help :)
Sometimes the additional buttons of mouses and the macro features dont work properly in game. So its better to avoid using those features.
I use macro so i dont have to hold c to free look. Is this against the rules?
It might be, it’s not something available as an option in game so you’re effectively gaining an advantage over others not using macros. But i would have to double check to be able to give an actual answer.
For air battles there is a sort of built in function for it but it isn’t as easy a direct “toggle” option would be. I described it in a comment to a suggestion for control options in air:
But if you would want an option to make free look toggleable you can create a suggestion in the suggestion section here on the forum. That section is however pre-moderated and only posts that follow their rules and guidelines will get posted and it can take a couple of weeks for a post to get reviewed for publication. If it gets accepted and made public it then has a chance to get sent to the developers as a suggestion later on.
I don’t think macros are necessary in this game. Instead, key remapping is much more practical. However, I am curious whether remapping mouse buttons is against the rules. To avoid key conflicts, I may need to set my mouse side buttons to keys like F24 that don’t exist on a standard keyboard.
Not sure i understand what you mean. Could you give an example of where you would need to re-map keys? How would the conflicts occur?
My mouse has multiple buttons for quickly adjusting DPI. If I try to assign them to in-game actions, they would also change my DPI at the same time. So I need to use LGHUB to remap these buttons to other function keys first—for example, infrequently used keys like “[” and “]”, or even non-existent keys like “F24”. That way, I can use these buttons normally in games. Also, by using non-existent keys, I don’t have to worry about accidentally triggering them outside of games.
I’m not a native English speaker, so I’m sorry if my translator caused any confusion.
Rebinding your mouse buttons is completely fine, you are just changing the function of your buttons instead of programming a pattern (which I still don’t see why it would be an issue, usually it saves you from having to spam flares or something)
No worries :)
That should be fine (but i can’t give any guarantees as i’m not responsible for those types of bans). You’re only pressing one key to accomplish one single thing that is a single key bind in the game so it sounds like that shouldn’t be a problem. If that would have been a problem then things like HOTAS wouldn’t be possible as that requires basically the same thing.
“spam flares” is already a function in the game, you can just set the perioding countermeasures during the spawn screen and then use the corresponding key bind for those.
The issue with macros is automating certain tasks by queueing multiple different key binds together into a single keypress. To give an example that isn’t really that exploitable (i don’t want to spread ways to “cheat/exploit/abuse”); pressing a single key and then a macro in quick succession switches to gunners sight, turns on thermals, switches to commander sight, turns on thermals, switches back to normal view. That technically isn’t allowed as that isn’t a function that exists in the game (like for example if there had been a setting for having thermals automatically activated at match start then that macro is just redundant).
