Personally I find TUSK to be dead weight so I don’t use it
Yes
Weird because I can front pen all of those tanks… so none of them are frontally immune to attack.
Where are you getting the idea of the opposite?
Also what documents do you have proving the M1 has a 800 KE hull or a hull even matching 600?
SEPv2 is permanently burdened with it, with no option to take it off: so SEPv2 is basically a downgrade to SEP. Same thing, but heavier.
You can’t take off the TUSK on the SEPv2
Yes I’m well aware, but you can on the SEP.
And you would still be able to pen SEPv3; with DM53, possibly even the hull still; with every other shell, the whole mantlet, center of mass and turret ring neck, and the UFP in many angles as well.
And where do you get the idea that the Abrams would be “invincible” for getting a similar upgrade to that everyone else is getting?
Never claimed it should or could ever be that high.
Russian intel sources listed SEPv2 to be on the 600mm KE range, improved hull armor package program achieved an increase by 35% in the late 1990s (370 + 35% = 500)… so you can be sure the SEPv3 put in service in 2015 with verified hull armor upgrades and which is 4,000kg heavier than the previous variant is roughly on the 600mm KE range indeed.

okay cool, as it should be.

Well my entire position has always been it wouldn’t be invincible and asking for it to be increased wouldn’t change anything considering all of the shells currently penetrating the hull would likely continue to do so.
Russian intel sources
Alright so. Let’s play within the realm of reason here. Let’s also not just cite an intel source then not provide.
Not only is this not what Abrams players are asking for but you would see virtually no improvement in game to game performance. As an Abrams player this would be more dead weight than anything beneficial.
How would any of these fixes be “dead weight”? The mass is correct ingame and wouldn’t change.
So what- fixed turret ring would make it invincible, or it would add virtually no improvement…?
Turret ring wouldn’t be penned by SPAA auto cannons.
This is exactly what Abrams players are asking for when they want the Abrams Fixed? Unless your talking about SepV3.
Exactly.
Many of us believe SEPv3 was warranted the moment we starting getting multiple 122s, 2A7s and 2023 Russian MBTs;
But leaving this aside, all we ask is for these fixes for the currently ingame Abrams tanks:
A boost in turret ring armour would mean autocannons would have a much harder time killing an Abrams frontally.
How would any of these fixes be “dead weight”? The mass is correct ingame and wouldn’t change.
50mm of armor on areas that aren’t being focused down isn’t beneficial.
200mm of armor around the ring is not going to stop any APFSDS or CE munitions.
So what- fixed turret ring would make it invincible, or it would add virtually no improvement…?
You keep harping on this but I’m not the one who said it would make it invincible.
Turret ring wouldn’t be penned by SPAA auto cannons.
No it would still get penetrated due to the fact it’s volumetric therefore still 50mm in some cases.
This is exactly what Abrams players are asking for when they want the Abrams Fixed? Unless your talking about SepV3.
No they’ve been asking for transmission fixes, more ammo, more armor, more mechanics such as hydraulic fluid systems, downtiers, more iterations etc etc.
If you put yourself in a position where you’re taking accurate autocannon fire to the turret ring, you’ve succeeded in playing the tank incorrectly to be honest.
KDR = INFINITY
BMP-2M? 2S38? 9040s? PUMA?
Sometimes 1 shot isn’t enough to kill an enemy, or there are more than 1 enemy engaging me.
Have you seen the pictures? It’s not 50mm thick at any point.
And. No. One. Asks. It. To. Do. So. It would protect against autocanons and stray UFP bounces (which should not happen on the first place; shells should shatter, not bounce off like a ping pong ball).
You and others are the ones who brought up that “we just want an Invincible Hollywood Abrams” for asking for this.
