Im cursed by living on the west coast and having to play the asian timezones after dinner. The screenshot says everything, its literally not even entertaining
It is day one of the new battlepass. The experts are back.
And at the same time, says nothing. You played the inferior ground mode (Arcade), you’re on a losing streak, yes, yes. But what BR are you playing at? Not all Germany is the same when it comes to winning.
Germany 6.0. I mean it was obsurd, after a certain time in the night it was just a streak of bloodbaths and insane shots. I would call a 30% win rate a losing streak but that was something else
SA server?
im going to take a guess, 5.7-6.7 Germany matches?
I’m from Aus, but typically play on US server. Last night with 7.0 Germany:
Try get around 6.7 Germany, so you’re more likely to be on teams with those that have the 7.0 lineup (Flakpanzer, KT 10.5, Panther 2). That’s a German sweet spot. Although, I’m not sure how it all works with arcade, could be totally different. I only play GRB. Let us know how your next session goes, could be a one off.
The issue here is you are comparing 2 different things. Your 7.0 germany is a lineup available to veterans of the game while we all know how 6.0 matches with germany go.
AS an example me and my friends played a 4 man squad yesterday at 6.3. Got a match with germany on our side and even though we were a 4 man squad and our entire f-ing team was purely made of panthers and tigers we lost horribly. No amount of teamwork from our squad could compensate for the absolutely dreadful state of german 6.0 players
Yes, my point was to queue up as close to the veterans as possible. 7.0 Germany is a popular lineup. The lineup might not be accessible to you, but you can try get on teams with teammates that have it. But yeah, what @AurenKarach and I find that games are typically easier for us when it’s not a down-tier. When you get a lot of Germans in Panthers and Tiger 1s, things can get pretty rough. Not because the vehicles are bad, but the sort of player that they attract. Plenty of inexperienced players. 6.7 Germany also gives you 7.7 Germany in a full up-tier, which can be good if the Maus players (Edit: Though I see Maus is 8.0 for you arcade players) are not terrible.
Germany 6.0 is a great lineup when it comes to the vehicles, at least in ground RB. I have disgusting amounts of fun in it.
However, in terms of matchmaker, you’re in a tough spot, because 6.7 is an extremely popular BR for both Germany and the US; and, even more damning, 7.0 is an extremely popular BR for T29 players, which are the bane of German 6.0.
That said, you’re also playing with veterans that have the otherwise inaccessible 7.0 lineup, as my good friend says. So it’s not all bad.
I haven’t played German 6.0 since late September, but I played it a bunch this summer, and if I had to give actionable advice, it would be this: it will be a coin toss whether you get the worst team imaginable or the best team you’ve ever played with, so the only thing you can do heading into a match where you don’t know which is which, is try to do everything yourself. Be aggressive. Get to power positions early. Kill the M18s before they can get into planes. If you see a T29 in the kill feed, hunt the dude down and shoot his MG port, so he’s just wasted his full-downtier spawn points. On a flat map, use the M109 to counter heavy spam. When the air is full of CAS, get to work in the Ostwind II and the Zerstoerer. Get dem nukes.
All of this is RB-specific advice, because I don’t know much about arcade.
A couple examples I have on hand:
Sometimes this will happen and there’s nothing you can do about it. Still. WT as a game follows the 80-20 rule. 20% of players do 80% of the work. It will not win you every match, but it’ll be enough. You absolutely can end up with a positive win rate playing the 6.0 Panthers and the Tiger E.
Hell, thanks to Statshark I can actually go and check. Apparently between June and this autumn I’ve played 91 matches in the Panther F. 58% win rate, 2.6 K/D. So while the team situation is bad, it’s not bad enough from stopping a dedicated player from getting good results. If at first you don’t succeed, try again.
And sometimes you’ll get pleasantly surprised. Yesterday on Port Novo we had a Panther G in a 7.7 match putting in some work killing French and American heavies thanks to a good flank.
I actually don’t think that’s from the teams, because rookie players in Tiger IIs and Jagdtigers are even worse than rookie players in Panthers, at least Panthers have mobility. I think the reason we do better in uptiers is that if the team mates with the “low end” vehicles are performing above average, it makes the job easier for the guys in a full downtier so they don’t have to carry the whole team on their shoulders. Whereas when we play in downtiers, most of the time the options are carry or die.
Not sayin you cannot it’s just a herculean task to get it there. As soon as we saw the full team made of tiger and panther palyers and all 3 caps red we knew it was over
Oh, definitely. So many times the match begins and I instantly know we’re going to lose, because the team is not spreading out and is advancing in a conga line, or not advancing at all. That is incredibly frustrating. But, ngl, playing 7.0 with Dudesrug with my 6.7 lineup, I don’t see that big a difference. We still get teams that wouldn’t win if they were playing at this BR with Leopard 2A7s.
Despite that, I have fun anyway, and I wanted to share tips and examples of why, that’s all. :D
OOH I feel you. We play 6.7 with friends adn I use the french 6.0 “lineup”. Only 2 6.0 vehicles and I bring out the ARL-44 and EBR 1951 (both 5.3) often and still manage to be top of the team more than 50% of the time. Even got 2 nukes in the past month playign exclusively the EBR.
And then you have people in tigers getting 1 kill 1 assist and spawning in a stuka just to get shot down and leave and you start questioning your own sanity
Serious personal gripe against people who think the poor Stuka is still good enough CAS at that BR. It is not.
These experiences are universal to players who’re familiar with the game. I mean, just consider we’re both on the forum commenting. For every one of us, there are 100 casual players who just spawn in and don’t think about it too much. And tbh in a way that’s fine, it’s certainly better than some of the players who end up on the forums only to whine and refuse to get better.
But I’ve definitely had my moments the past few months where I’ll ask myself, what the hell are our 7.7s or 8.0s doing? Why am I carrying this 8.0 match in a Tiger II Sla while our Leopard I player got shot in the face by a ZSU-57-2 and then 1DL’d? Or our Swede with his banger 8.0 lineup who left after dying once in the IKV-91? France 7.7 is often a nightmare to face and an incredible ally to have, but we’ve also seen our fair share of allied Somuas who just couldn’t Somua and would leave after 1 death.
It’s also dispiriting because you feel like you’re putting in so much work for nothing. But really anyone who in a 7.7/8.0 match needs to get carried by a bloody King Tiger needs to seriously rethink how they’re playing ground RB, imho, lol.
Too relatable. Went for some 10.0 matches, brought out my mirage IIIC out as CAP, get a radar return, fire off my R530 only to kill a IL-2. Or go play the Rafale as CAP on to shoot down me262 or BF-109s with my MICAs. It’s just insane what some people do.
Yeah, Had a 25minute match (battle) on Port Novo where It devolved into me alone going to the top street 7-8 times (8.0 lineup, France, full uptier) getting over 20 kills with the only support being 2 SPAA in spawn and one (god bless him) helicopter. WE still ended up losing because the match ended on a 55v55 kills (I was down to my 2nd spawn with the DF105 and could not get the last kill since I could only see the turret and we all know HEAT damage) and our CAP was decapped since I had to juggle fighting 4 tanks, preventing them from capping and also not dying for 15 minutes. Our team was entirely gone in 5 minutes and I was getting flak for complaining about german players in chat at the start of the match.
I asked myself if it was even worth it at the end. Probably since I did have fun but at the same time not.
Holy crap I think Im the newbie here, you guys are talkin about tactics Ive never considered before. This is all super helpful.
yea that losing streak was insane, and I guess its just a bunch of newbs getting paired with absolte vets due to the BR. Full disclosure, think it being AB made it worse because in those battles everyone knows where everyone else is and skill gaps become slaughter fests.
Adjudged as such by a limited intellect
Sorry, the gamemode highlighting enemies for you is the one for those with lower intellect. It’s an objective fact that RB is the golden goose. No point being defensive about it. Did you have anything constructive to add to this topic for OP, or were you just being a butt hurt Once Were Warrior?
I think it’s a bit of both, really. Though, we’ve been getting terrible 7.7 and 8.0 teammates, so there’s that, too.
BTW you can queue up for three servers, ping is fine, but the queues pop within seconds. you also a wider range of tanks etc.
