Whenever I play well, I find my luck in certain situation takes an absolute nose dive. The most glaring examples I can think of when I spawn in a bomber or fighter in arcade mode. Any enemy fighter that spawns to intercept my bomber is placed 0.45km away. Doesn’t matter whether I have one or three enemy fighters, they all spawn as close as possible and I get shot down after getting stuck by one singular bullet. But, when I spawn as a fighter, I’m placed so far away from the bomber I have no chance in hell to hit them. By the time I close down the 1.5km - 2.0km distance, they’ve dropped their bombs and ejected.
Seems like an unusual way to balance a game. Make people’s game more difficult and others easier instead of matching based on experience or skill.

Notionally that is all random, via random placement and other things where the game uses a random number generator or RNG to determine things. It can seem that there is some pattern to it (ie: “getting Gaijined”), but it is largely “confirmation bias”. You only remember the times you are on the short end of the RNG stick, not benefit from it.
OTOH,
It would be very easy for there to be server end shenanigans written into the code. The game already does this to a degree with crew skills. Your game performance is intentionally nerfed compared to other players.
But ,
Hanlon’s razor. How much of Gaijin’s stupid can you put up with?
lol at flagging.
4 out of 5 times I earn a bomber this happens to me as well. Many times I have no chance of dropping ordinance and I feel cheated.
They need to do 1 of 2 things…
Players ALWAYS spawn on their own side of map - it’s kind of silly to have them (especially fighters) spawn right behind your own base.
OR
Have bombers spawn at much higher altitude than the fighters - so the fighters need to at least climb (and lose speed) to try and intercept.
Currently they can be right behind the bomber and pretty much at same level. Not a fair situation.

Yes. It’s such a disheartening feeling to spawn a bomber after fighting hard for it, and it gets shot down within 5 seconds 2km from the battlefield. Like, one bullet hits the plane and my entire tail section is torn off. Yet, the enemy gets a free pass to bomb because I get spawn so far away I cannot catch up and well easily eat up every bullet I fire at it. To add insult to injury, the enemy’s bomber spawns very close to my sitting duck of a tank, so there’s a very good chance that I’ll return to a destroyed vehicle.

In ground arcade, I feel helicopters have it worse. They spawn so close to each other now you can be gunned down before your able to use atgms or rockets.
On the plus side you can clear the sky with the a basic helicopter spawn, if youre good enough.
I don’t even bother spawning a helicopter. It’s a lesson in futility. The players that I’m matched with seem to think so as well because I rarely see them spawn, and have never felt threatened by an enemy flying in one.
Both you and your opponents are humans playing the game…so this^^ does not make sense. One scenario is good for the bomber other is good for the fighter…and i am assuming you were several times on good positions also…just not on those two cases.
Game has RNG, and if you play planes enough you will sometimes be on a good position, others on a bad one…it should even out…unless your luck is worse than average. On some matches i take fighters more than once…and distance changes a lot…but i get good positions also…as do you…
I also don’t as i dont know how to fly them well enough…but trust me that if an enemy knows how to use them you will feel threatened…happens more when they get ATGMs.
But yes…helicopters often only fight each other…as they take some time to get to vehicles…and are vulnerable to AAA.
