Add to that the fact that Gaijin is also forcing players straight down the middle of more and more maps in order to force brawling to keep games and queue times short and you’re left with what the game has become (ground battles anyway). A bunch of Lemmings ploughing straight up the middle, maybe getting a kill or two, dying and leaving with most matches being over in a few minutes with ZERO sense of engagement or achievement. Rinse and repeat. What an utter waste of what COULD be a decent game.

I feel like the maps are big enough. My problem is that players choose to brawl in the middle, and not flank. That leaves me to fight 3 enemy flankers all on my own. Once I get my track shot out or engine destroyed, I’m as good as dead, because nobody will repair me.

Each time I spawn in, I get a kill and my shot draws attention, and before I can reload I’m killed. This happens over and over again because my team is busy brawling in the centre, yet still unable to capture the objective. For each kill I draw attention and get 1 death.

If I just had another player as good as me, it’d turn the balance of the game in my team’s favour. But no, every idiot has to play germany or russia, and either brawl, or sit 2 miles from the objective and stare at the hills or cliffs.

It isn’t Gaijin that makes the playerbase low iq, these players are low iq to start with. They have the option of flanking but seldom use it.

@Blitzkrieg14 I agree with you, it would almost be better as a single player game with bots. I’m wondering if I’ll spend money on war thunder again, or uninstall it and play DOOM Eternal and Cities Skylines instead.

There’s a number of issues at play here. Here are just a few:

1. The fact that Gaijin keep making changes that take the focus off teamplay and removing or reducing rewards for winning a match results in players that are just focussed on completing individual tasks instead as that’s where the rewards are. They just don’t care if they die or not most of the time because it’s just a matter of starting the next match and doing the same thing over and over. This leads to point 2.
2. This dumbs down the game into a simple shooter and consequently attracts more, as you put it, low IQ players who aren’t interested in learning the nuances of the game and simply want to get a quick fix and “shoot stuff”. This leads to point 3.
3. Lots of more seasoned players who actually try to play for the challenge of outwitting and outplaying the enemy team and winning battles get frustrated with being teamed up with a bunch of low IQ players who aren’t interested in the result of individual matches and as result either play a lot less, or leave. That results over time in a higher and higher percentage of your team mates being duckwits and the whole situation of experienced players getting frustrated and leaving snowballs and you’re left with most team mates being worthless and matches lasting only a few minutes and being absolutely pointless and unrewarding.

Again, I can only comment from my own experience and that’s confined to what I’ve seen in Arcade Ground Battles. I don’t know that Air is quite as badly affected.

True, and the MM is garbage, but I don’t think it’s ever been as bad as it is currently.

Define the “MM” because there is no SBMM, there is no player sorting. It finds you the quickest match available. The only thing used to sort players is the BR of their vehicle that being + or - 1.0 BR.

To be honest i feel the same way after spending a lot of time and money in the game. After a lot of years. I got the feeling that the Asian servers are gone and we all play the same servers…Asian players ending up with 15 to 24 kills in a match where other players and not the worst players ending up with 4 a 5 kills. Somehow its getting worse and worse. And it feels like getting punished wen you want to play this game with friends bq your getting uptired instantly. The fun is going away. And i see a lot of friends leaving. So i totaly agree with you.

I don’t want to 100% give up on the game, but I have lost some interest in progression. I’d rather burn some money on camos and ace tank crews. Then I have a better chance of holding out on my own. Especially against idiots who don’t understand tanks outside of USSR and Germany. I often ninja players with my ELC Bis and it’s hilarious. Jagtiger is nothing lol
