Hey everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone knows whether there’s a refund process available for Golden Eagles that were purchased before Gaijin changed their Terms of Service earlier this year.
Last year, I spent around $100 on Golden Eagles because I believed in the game and planned to come back and play whenever I had time. But with the recent ToS update that allows Gaijin to delete inactive accounts after a period of time, I honestly wouldn’t have made that purchase if those terms had been in place then. That kind of policy makes me uncomfortable putting more money into the game.
I haven’t used all of the Eagles I bought, and now I’m considering stepping away from the game entirely. Has anyone successfully requested a refund in a situation like this? Or is there any pathway to dispute the purchase through Gaijin support?
Not trying to start a debate—just genuinely looking for information. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

you have to go to gaijin support for that and they will refund you. the new TOS is trash. go refund it before they delete your account.

Thank you sir, much appreciated. Hopefully this isn’t a painful process, but given Gaijins’ history, I bet it is.

You can only get a refund if didn’t spend any of the GE you bought.

I already had golden eagles before that purchase. I used the golden eagles I initially had to get a year of premium, I haven’t technically “touched” the $100 worth of golden eagles. Hopefully Gaijin will be reasonable.
they delete after 3 years IIRC

Thanks for the info — I get that it’s 3 years of inactivity before they delete your account. But honestly, that’s exactly what worries me.
I’ve taken breaks longer than 3 years from so many games over the course of my life — including War Thunder itself. I played it a ton back in high school, then barely touched it throughout college because I just didn’t have the time. That’s a normal part of life. Priorities change, schedules get tight, and gaming gets put on hold.
The issue for me is this: What happens 5 or 10 years from now when I have kids, a demanding job, or something else pulling my attention? Am I just supposed to accept that my War Thunder account — and the $100+ I spent on it — could get wiped just because I had to step away for a while?
It feels wrong that all the money, progress, and time I’ve invested could be permanently deleted, not because of anything I did, but just because life happened. I think that’s a big reason why this ToS change hit so many people the wrong way. It’s not just about current players — it’s about long-term players who care enough to come back later.

Just play once a year? Or better yet play once a week?
Also if you spent any of the GE in-game you can’t get a refund as you consumed the product.

you only have to login in order for it to reset the timer I’m pretty sure
Whatever you do record the whole thing for your own (account) protection

Yeah the new TOS kinda sucks but it is 3 years without a login. So you can literally just login once every year and be fine. And you even get a warning before deletion. Don’t remember how much before but it exists.
