Nono, I mean there’s a tiny armour hole in the abrams turret (not the turret ring) that lets 30mm apds through, kill the commander and even ammo rack you if you’re unlucky
This argument is void though, as the SM-SV has the most muntions. IF we say 2% off all munitions intercepted get through, the SM-SV is still the top dog by a long shot.
The SM-SV also has the advantage of launching with the LOS of the gunsight, making close range (<2km) intercepts even possible. Vertical launchers like most other high tier SAMs are ineffective within that range.
As for the tank arguments, most of my shit shots (eg. way to low, too far back towards engine etc) usually result in a “playability” kill, meaning that the horzontal drive gets disabled aswell as the engine/driver/track. That tank can’t fight back anymore and is a free kill.
I can show you like a dozen clips from just today where I shoot LFP on a Txx and get driver-engine or driver-autoloader-engine. Or do a roadwheel shot and only yellow the autoloader and do nothing else. So even if you killed the oh-so-important autoloader as some players seem to make it out, you usually get killed right after because the guy has 5-6 seconds to shoot back at you.
Oh THAT hole…
That explains me randomly losing my commander and/or gunner to BMPT fire when hull down sometimes.
Yeah it’s a bit annoying when that happens
I don’t think BVM should be grouped into this. Due to its lack of protected fuel tanks, spall liner, and possessing a vertical carousel, it doesn’t really tank much of anything to the side.
It does have a nasty habit of occasionally tanking shots if your shell goes through both fuel tanks on the right side
But that’s usually easily avoided
I was more refering to the relikt bags rather than tank itself. You have to admit they tend to pull some bullshit from time to time.
Yes but Relikt eating stuff is a combination of multiple factors in the tank. Whether or not its layered, has fuel tanks behind it, angle, spall liner, ammo/crew layout, autoloader protection, type of fuel tank, etc. 90M is 5x more prone to cause bs than BVM is what I meant. BVM sides are like almost never a problem imo.
I absolutely agree with you there.
Unfortunately I dont usually record, but believe me this claim of mine isnt unfounded. ill record it next time i run into it.
