Is the coastal grind going to continue to remain in the state its in?

I think it would be neat if they had multipliers for punching up classes, like if i sink a bb in my 3.7 torpedo boat I should get significantly more than the base reward for sinking a bb, which is higher but not by too much.

I think ive given up completely on the coastal grind and im just gonna use premiums/event stuff. Luckily there are at least some nice options for the nations i play like the skr7, bussard, and some premium fast torpedo slingers. Ive been playing this game like a job recently and honestly I think youd have to be a pyscho to grind out coastal or only play WT for naval and nothing else.

Ya let me just survive for 25 minutes in a destroyer or any of these low tier matches to last half that long. Coastal is even worse, and even in that extreme case you are getting less than what some sloppy 25 minutes worth of GRB gets you, which is even less than air still. I have no clue why you would defend these RP rates.

It’s your problem if you don’t know how to survive.




Only game you got more than 1krp/min was in colorado. Not sure what this proves other than new players might as well just skip low tier naval. And less than 500 in the tennesee, again awful gains in anything that isnt talismaned or premium.

And these are games you are slaughtering in, what about the average player, thats gonna be even worse.

  2. Well at least for point 2, sometimes you get to shoot lots of low tier bot boats before being shot up by a pr 206.
  3. I don’t care much for coastal grind cus it doesn’t interest me much. I just use it to grind daily missions (like damage for cannoner task is faster on coastal in general)

I’ve grinded many boats using this mindset, but yeah I agree it’s too slow.

Iam grinding Italy coastal rn and i have to say that br compression and overtiered dinky crap boats are a huge issue. No kidding no one plays naval, Gaijin! You all made it absolutely horrible and then abandoned it!

The French boats are one thing, those I can at least torpedo because they are slow…but there is so much crap at 3.3 that absolutely massacers the Itallian 2.3.
The br’s are so messed up, and then the rp requirement is just straight up dumb.

120,000 rp for an MC-490, just so I can have 2x 40mm guns that CANT pen the french barges? Give me a break! Zero thought and IQ went into this, no kidding it failed!

I get you like naval and are good at it, but im geniunely curious what you have to gain by gatekeeping like this.

If air or ground grind was in this state the entire forum, maybe even hq would be burnt to the ground.

All this does is contribute to the stagnation the game mode is seeing, half of almost every match is filled with bots, que times are atrocious even when queing for all regions…

Man, they are in similar state, except ARB where gains are good.

Players just don’t wanna learn Naval and prefer whine.

When you finish first tree you gain everyday bonuses, and grind become much easier.

No one is asking to make naval easier, entire community pretty much roasted them for arcade changes.

I can get more than 1krp/min in ground matches where I dont even do particullary well, i dont sit in que for 2 minutes between matches, and right now gains are heavily affected by bots, i have nearly 10kd in the sharn and I suck, all because of bots.

New players in ground and air arent greeted with insanely high rp req for lower tier vehicles, in air they can just bomb, in ground even a single kill a cap and some assist is going to net them ok rp especially in the context of their next vehicle being 40-80k rp at most.

Amiens, Le Suprise, both have bigger, more guns, and huge empty hulls that the 40mm either does not pen or it flies through empty space. Oh but you can slowly chip away at turret crew. wow surely never heard of this, nor of damage per second. Meanwhile, their actual cannons make short work of my MS-472, MV-611 and the MAS-441.

There are major problems with spawning out of cover on many of maps now aiming is less awkard, something like the M-17 is mostly useless now, it’ll never make it to a spawn point to block it up with mines before getting sniped by a destroyer, even PR206s and similar are too sluggish to get to cover sometimes, or even get off a torp.

Some new spawn points, higher terrain, and large enemy detection zones so you can make a better decision on where to spawn, it should not be trivial for an enemy team to have spawn coverage over both. Mediterrainan Port is probably the worst, it needs something else, maybe D2 and B7 - similar to how Japanese Port is.

Also, maybe now it’s just that high rank coastal now requires a tiny boat for more situations.

Community service note: people upthread who say NAB has higher RP rewards are misleading you, for whatever reason.

SL/game rewards are also significantly higher. Note that for RP that’s not multipliers (and it’s only in-game RP, same as your service record, net RP per game is higher). There’s just more points for coastals to be had in RB at the moment, primarily due to the longer TTL in that mode.

Is it enough RP? I don’t think so, no. The real structural issue is they balance total RP per tree, not per line in a tree. So when they split naval it effectively doubled total RP to get to “all your ships spaded.” Coastal has suffered since.

Ya i stopped playing arcade for my 5.3 lineup i run coastal on in USSR and even if multipliers arent different the fact you live much longer on average helps a ton. Went from about 7k rp average a match to around 11k, for matches I stayed alive longer than 5 minutes which is a lot easier to pull off in rb.

Its honestly not even the aiming, the giant nametag above everyone showing ship class makes it extremely easy to find low class ships relstive to yours and pummel them so you really suffer bad in uptiers.

Arcade was amazing for grinding with battleships though, hardly ever targeted, aiming and gameplay was so automated I just watched youtube and clicked on the next cruiser to bully after it died and payed attention to torpedo warnings.

Yeah, Statshark shows the only BR area that’s kept players in AB with the March changes is 6.7-7.0, and even there, games/day has been down, May over Feb. Every other BR range, players have outright left, or switched. Scoring per unit of time is basically the same in both modes, so it’s really just the reduced TTL since Feb (which makes sense: if you simplify aiming, that’s normally what you’ll get).

Making planes stronger in this next update should bring them back to both modes, increasing RP/game… that will of course also bring the ship TTL down further though, reducing RP/game… to be seen if that tradeoff is positive.
