Is RP gain bugged?

You might consider all the lines,…

When you do add every line together the total is the good one.

The first image has two different values for modification research. One including the skill bonus on the breakdown, and then what was actually awarded to my aircraft/crew experience on the right hand side which is not including the skill bonus.

I was also unaware that the RP bonus for taking part in matches/winning battles only applied to your time alive bonus. Explains why I get such bad RP playing aggressively but can earn much more sitting back and making sure I don’t die at the cost of getting less kills. There is no logical reason for GJN to do the breakdown of RP differently from SL. So spin-master explanation pending, my assumption is that it’s to obfuscate RP gain.

Prove it.

Everything we have introduced regarding the new skill bonus rewards was explained in detail in the most recent article we published on it:

There have been no reductions of rewards with the introduction of this bonus.

Is it a bug that I only received 5,666 modification research for the MiG-29 in the first screenshot, when the breakdown implied I would be getting 8,499?

You did receive the full modification RP. The bug simply appears to be the “researching progress” small window display when you already have a fully researched aircraft with no mods left to research. Our developers are investigating this, but its only with the displayed value in that window and only with fully researched (already spaded) vehicles. You would have received the full final rewards, as the detailed breakdown shows you.

The full award list can be easily found within the message with the results of the battle:

The debriefing window doesn’t have the complete full breakdown like the results will have. The Award for victory / participating is the award for the battle duration. You also have an award for each individual action within the battle (kills, assists, captures etc). The Award for the skill is calculated from the sum of the award for time and the sum of awards for all actions (but only the base part of both).

Thanks for double checking this and giving a thorough breakdown.

Is there also somewhere on the breakdown that shows you the RP multiplier for winning/losing? It’s hard to tell how much it is, and which RP sources they are applied to. I’m assuming it’s applied to the base gameplay time for each vehicle?

The RP and SL multiplier for winning is currently what was voted upon by the community: [Development] Planned economy changes in February - News - War Thunder

The award for winning is automatically calculated based on this.

I think what it means is:

  • 3068 base amount, 2833 of which was kill-based

  • +100% of the kill-based amount only for skill = +2833

  • +100% of the base amount only for premium time = +3068

3068 + 2833 + 3068 = 8969

Pretty close, within a couple hundred, I don’t know what small thing I’m missing.

Oh I hadn’t noticed smin replied already. Still don’t really understand, tbh. Whatever is going on needs to be way way clearer in the end of battle tab. Ditch all the weird multipliers and subtotals and “totals” that are subtotals, and missing totals that are subtotals, and things hidden in tooltips and blah blah blah…

Just write out one line-item once per source of RP (if it’s from a multiplier, then "This multiplier gave you: [absolute amount] again as a line item), in a row, and have a single actual total at the end.

I tried looking throught the posts here and I’m lost.
Just give me a yes or no answer.

Is the RP from the mods aka the 12000 RP gonna get added to my mig 29 research or no?

No, only to modules of Su-25 if there is none, then it’s wasted(if new module appears only last reward will be applied on the aircraft modules, and will be affected only after a game is done → the last game + the game you just did)

You also can see on the right that number is matching the RP affected to Su-25.

The only addition to MiG-29 research is the around 5000 RP on the line right under.

Thanks for the explanation.

There is also, a fact that your current RP amount for MiG-29 research is reduced to by 60% because:

Every aircrafts can’t effectively research Aircraft of 2+ ranks above their own ranks.

So if you were to use a MiG-23M and done similarly, your research of MiG-29 would have been 12k RP, and no 5k RP.

Su-25 is rank 6
MiG-29 is rank 8

That’s 2 above
