I decided to try out heli PvE with Swedish tech tree helicopter as I got some time to grind new SL until I get my next MBT. Do I really have to waste like 40k while getting 20k, well because my allies can’t always destroy SPAA so I have to risk and die to it? And result in a huge loss of SL in 30 min battle… I’m not going to waste my whole 200k bank playing this for 3 hours. I don’t know, maybe when the battle ends I’ll get more SL but it’s the night time. Not risking it
You will get a chunk of the reward when the match actualy ends. So you may get more.
But EC works on activity time, rather than actions. Its better to do a little and survive for ages than to try and do a lot and die often>
But yeah. Heli PvE is a terrible gamemode that should have been replaced years ago
More of a time waste than a money waste, honestly. If you don’t do very much you don’t get much RP out of the match, and the SL will come after the match ends but the more you die the more SL you lose, so you could end up coming out negative SL if you die enough.
It’s about 2hrs minimum to finish a Heli PvP mode with no guarantee of coming out on a profit. The maps are huge with ridiculous AI SPAA and far too few OBJs to complete. They take forever to run another OBJ after completing one and there’s still the issue of convoys spawning directly under you, meaning you get instantly obliterated by the SPAA.
Additionally, the early TT helis can’t do anything on their own against the SPAA and so you depend on your teammates with better helis to clean the SPAA up so you can try to contribute and get yourself some RP and SL. I say try because oftentimes those teammates are also enemies in blue because they won’t leave you anything to do, so you’ll ultimately end up wasting 2hrs+ with nothing much to show for it.
Heli PvE has so much potential that’s just wasted because Gaijin left it by the roadside ages ago. It’s a bygone product of Gaijin having to come up with something else after axing Heli PvP because the Ka-50 was, and still is, a Pay2Win monster that ruled that game mode over everything else.
What is EC?
And yeah, I know this game is about time/actions both > actions, and time > actions alone, but still, I can’t do anything with my Robot 53, it has 2 km range and horrific velocity. I’m out of this game mode until I get at least 4 km range and 200 m/s velocity
“Enduring Confrontation” - game modes that can last a lot longer than the usual 10-20 minute games -s sometimes up to 2 hrs or more - so time spent in game is more important than actions.

Yeah, they made Heli PvE as a bodge job replacement for the old Heli PvP mode but made it exclusively for top tier Helis and then forgot it even existed.
Any heli below 10.3/10.7 is pretty much screwed

You’d need an Mi-24D or Tzefa B with TOWs to babysit you
As Morvran mentioned before - heli PvE is absolutely tragic. I don’t think it should be replaced, tho, just fixed.
I have two big issues.
1st is the BR brackets. You can spawn in with your 9.3 stock heli and next to you can spawn a teammate with a fully decked out Ka-50. Not really much you can do then.
2st is the rewards. Even if you actually do something, doesn’t matter if you kill an enemy force, convoy or a few bases, the reward is just… nothing. On average, a single heli PvE match takes around 40 minutes, and you are quite lucky if you get more than 10k RP, and that is with premium and some smaller booster.
There are a lot of threads on this forum that discuss how broken the entire gamemode is, Gaijin doesn’t seem to listen at all.
Playing heli pve now with low tier helicopters and without premium account or big boosters (for example, 300% or bigger sl or rp boosters) is something I will never recommend.
As many players mentioned in this topicPVE Helicopter Mode Guide and other similiar discussion posts, even playing with premium high tier helicopters cannot ensure your income in every game, and the situation for low tier helicopters will be much worse. And such low br helicopters may not perform well in ground rb since there are already advanced spaa vehicles in their battle ratings.
I don’t think it should be replaced, tho, just fixed.
Yeah, I dont think we should lose a Heli PvE Gamemode, though to make it good, I think it would end up largely replaced. But I do think it needs to be augmented with an alternative. It has some logistical issues that need to be resolved, but even just allowing helis to be apart of Air Sim would probably be more than enough
so the difference between doing a lot and doing barely anything… is only 9%? if I do 200% more, I only get 9% more… jesus christ
Enduring Confrontation reward structure is awesome, isn’t it :p?
Here’s the data for SB EC for whoever is curious. (HeliBoys Sim EC Sheet - Google Spreadsheets)
It goes up to 92% at 1050 score over the 70% for heli EC and ticks over every 15 rather than 10 minutes. Mostly showing for sake of demonstrating data consistency.
the situation for low tier helicopters will be much worse
Since stock low tier helis can’t reliably fight against the SPAAs and have to resolve to just blindly rocketing bases… yeah, it’s not fun and it doesn’t give you any RP at all. I don’t care about SL, there are other ways to get that, but RP is something you either get in the PvE mode or in ground battles, where you either choose to spawn in right away with only rockets and hope the enemy doesn’t spawn an SPAA, or get a few kills with a tank, spawn with TOWs and get shot down by an SPAA since the TOWs, or any other low tier ATGMs, don’t outrange them.
low br helicopters may not perform well in ground rb since there are already advanced spaa vehicles in their battle ratings
Yeah just as I mentioned. Even when you do get ATGMs with more than 3.5km range, you’re already at a BR where the enemy gets SAMs. If you’re like me trying to spade the Japanese AH-1S, you’re not gonna have much fun at all.
It’s almost as if Gaijin purposely designed it this way so the player either has to spend GE to get the top tier heli, or spend GE to buy a premium.
But gaijin enabled players to research heli tech tree through ground battles. Grinding for the modifications of low tier helis will neither help you research heli tech tree effectively nor improve your game experience with those helicopters in low tier ground rb.
I’m shocked that you didn’t realize this earlier… It seems that gaijin mentioned this before on their official website that 300 points per 10 minutes is required to reach maximum rewards. Killing too much AI targets will be harmful for the game and the entire team.
spawn with TOWs and get shot down by an SPAA since the TOWs, or any other low tier ATGMs, don’t outrange them.
Gepard/ZA-35 aimbot range is 3km, Falanga and TOW outrange them
Though hitting a moving convoy with server object desync is pain, especially with TOWs as they can easily spiral out of control past 3km

Funny you should say something like this when the Premium Mi-28A is probably Swedens best Helicopter.
But gaijin enabled players to research heli tech tree through ground battles
Maybe some people wish to spade their helis, not just get the top tier one? It’s not just about getting the top tier stuff, lower tiers are meant to be played too.
Of all heli trees, Sweden is the worst imho. Good start, it can only get better.
