no i mean many more people will buy them, its a little too high right now
They clearly made a decision and it is safe to assume that it was an informed one. I always find it confusing how parts of the community act like they are dealing with a small group of indie devs who run this game from their garage or basement and make mistake after mistake when it comes to certain topics. Gaijin is a multi-million-dollar business that specialises in live-service free-to-play games. This game only exists to generate as much money as possible.
If a few oversimplified one-liners on the forums proved that they have run this game the wrong way for more than 10 years, they’d be in serious trouble. That’s why companies like these have whole teams of professionals who run the numbers to make sure beginner-level oversights like these do not happen. They will have studies and charts that show them exactly how their customers work. ArenaNet (GW2), for example, revealed at some point that one of their studies showed if they can’t make their players spend money in the gem store within the first three months, they never will. Publishers know things like that. It’s important.
It also reveals that there is a number of players who will never spend money on a free-to-play game, no matter what. So if they permanently lower the prices by 20 %, there is a number X that is completely unphased by the changes (which could be 89 % - 90 % of the current 90 % of players who do not spend money on the game), a number Y that might be convinced to make a purchase and a number Z that would have bought the vehicles for the old prices anyways.
If the amount of Y is not big enough, they will obviously just take the money from Z, maybe even raise the prices, and get money from Y during sales a few times a year rather than lowering the prices throughout the whole year and handing out “freebies” to Z who would even pay 100 USD for a vehicle to play it at release.
All in all, they are operating on a much larger scale than “Me and my friends would totally spend money on the game if things were cheaper, that means everyone would.” While you can pretend that the majority of the playerbase is technically willing to spend money on the game, Gaijin has much more accurate numbers.
The game is expensive? Well if you think 70 euros for a small piece of game vs a full AAA. Yes
But in context it is not, with patience … 40 euros a year premiun and some 35e package. It’s nothing a year! Let’s face it, a meal at Foster H is already 20 euros minimum … for a hamburger.
Now, this game knows the human nature of cravings … and that’s why it has part of the year inflated prices.
Lol, they are stupidly expensive, yet there are still a shit ton of gamers buying them - mystifying but true.
Just look at how much premium spam you find in the higher tiers. You are often almost swamped by premium vehicles.
Personally, I think Gaijin should be doubling the price. Maybe that would decrease the volume of premium vehicles.
get better dude. stop crying about premium player.
Raising price is like killing the goose for the golden egg, the players like me might still buying premium from Gaijin a during sales now but if the price keep raising I can’t said I would. Just like the government across the world, they don’t just take 80% of your renevue but spliting it into diferent kind of taxes. The main goal of this action is to encourge people to spend their money, taking 80% of people renevue only caused people keep their money in safe.
And from the aspect of a player from developing countries, 70 USD is not a small number to us, I think for most of the people buying a new AAA games is more reasonable than buying premium top tier in War Thunder. This games have large number of playerbase came from developing countries at Southeast Asian, South Asia and Eastern Europe where the wages is low and 70 USD pack meaning Gaijin will definely won’t get the money from their pocket.
Please respect the person who pay the bills, else the company wouldn’t be motivated enough to push out updates at the frequency they are now. I’m seriously dislike the welfare-warriors who not only doesn’t have the spending power, they also appears to be very ungrateful and constantly playing it off as if nobody spend cash, every contents in game will remain free until the earth becomes uninhabitable!
eh wrong. I spent money for many F2P games, that being said where I spent my money all of those actually paid off. it’s a gamble whether the stuff you buy in WT is actually good enough to warrant a purchase let alone on that caliber in places where $70 can mean a week worth of salary.
Im also from Asia, and thats too true honest to be true. While the average American player can just work for some 5 hours in McDonalds and get enough money for a few jets. While, an Asian player like ME can’t even afford most of them. The only time I can afford them is when I get money for my birthday. And that then is also too low. Recently I have been saving up to buy a few jets. And if you are not an adult with a paying job and like video games, YOU CANNOT PURCHASE MOST OF THE JETS. I really wish Gaijin DECREASED their prices in the Asian continent. This could have boosted their playerbases and increased their profits as they could have opened a market to more people. Only if Gaijin did that. I hope that Gaijin looks at this post and has a change of heart, oh wait…lol
yeah this.
I hate the “premium spam” post, the game is grindy as shit, let them have their premium for fuck sake.
Eh, why?!?
I mean respect is something that should be earned, not bougth.
Premium SPAM?
you know, the period after sales where everyone is flying the same plane.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
true tho
They do earn the respect by paying this game for you. either go play CS and mald about the lack of update compared to Dota or just suck a tree branch.
The people who has the ability to provide, doesn’t deserve any respect?
I’ve had a premium account for years.
I just did a quick count and found that I have more than 60 premium tanks (didn’t bother counting planes or boats). I think I’m pretty entitled to my opinion.
It would definitely improve purchases from non western players.
Even as a hungarian, the stark contrast of pharma chemists making like 1100 euro before taxes (and teachers like 700) versus ~14 euro/hour working mcd never ceases to amuse me. Like i get it, cost of living and stuff but it does suck donkey jewels in a global economy.
It is often referred to as “premium spam” when more than like one third of the players only have one vehicle (premium). Die very quickly and leave the game immediately after dying the first time.
