Is multipathing bugged for R77-1 or am i have skill issue?

Multipathing doesnt make you immune to SARH/ARH missiles. Instead it can trick missiles into hitting the ground isntead of you.

Think of the ground like a mirror, and when you are flying below 60m, you produce a reflection on that mirror. When the missile is approaching, it confuses you for the reflection and goes for the reflection.

If the missile is fired from above, then it may still go for the Multipath target (the reflection) but will simply hit you enroute. (especially if you are too close to the ground, at which point, you and the multipath target are practically at the same place) I think the Su-30SM has given them the confidence to climb and so shoot down far more often, making multipathing a poor way to defend

yes but for the love of god im not a new player and i played when FOX3s first came this is not quite like back then, i do last second dive and i can be able to dodge AIM120s but cant dodge R77-1s

i always fly just 20 meters above the SEA and be able to last second dive about 10 meters and still getting hit by only R77-1s
i can easily dodge Aim120s

They both have identical seekers at the moment, but if the R-77-1s were fired from above and the Aim-120s were fired from low alt, then that will explain it.

i dont wanna say russian bias but both missiles came above Su30s and F-15Es and only killed by R77-1s so far

There are a million variables on why a missile would hit or miss.

But best bet, is to learn how to defeat them using other tactics, like notch and chaff

Well maybe because R77-1 are significantly more agile at close range, during this last minute dive to lower altitute they can look down at a steeper angle and no longer fall victim to multipathing

Morvan i understand ur point and i agree with you when i fly high with my F15s
notch+chaff work perfectly but my is R77-1s are not multipathing

thx for that info i didnt know that

I’ve gotten rid of many R-77-1s by flying low. They perform same as every other radar missile in multipath, only exception that comes to my mind would be Phoenix/Fakour due to their large warhead and larger splash damage radius.

Bigger warhead than others, lofts a lot

Those missiles are fucking trolls, notching is useless, chaffing/flaring is useless, with 50g you can do whatever you want you get killed anw

not just you. Same exact problem, I fly the F-18C and the only missile that gets me while multipathing is the R-77-1 while I can easily avoid other Fox-3s

Its definitely not just you. Personally, i think Gaijin werent too happy with a French missile being the best so had to buff r77-1 as similar to you and others the r77 is the only one that is way more inconsistant and difficult to dodge, even with notching, chaff and multipath.

From personal experience, Mica and R77 kill me the most. I don’t see AIM-120 killing me that much at all. A SU or a Rafale is a much bigger threat in my mind than the americans and eurofighters. I know data of the missiles has another story but this is my personal experience. Chinese PL missiles are like in the mid range of threat.

Multipathing in general doesn’t seem to be as effective since the update.

I am experiencing so much more “splash”? Damage now compared to pre update. Not to mention direct hits that seem to be completely immune to multipathing.

On the other hand any 120 I fire now seems to be the most useless piece of weaponry in the game. I didn’t see anything brought up in the data mines so I’m not sure how to explain it perfectly.

Multipathing isn’t enough, real ones do mountainpathing or hillpathing now. If there are no mountains or hills, fly close to your teammates to sacrifice them. (Or look for a su57 lol)

If only it would work that way every time!
