Based on the available data, the M2K-5F shows the following average performance over 5,433,729 spawns:
Kills per Spawn: 1.05
Kills per Death: 1.35
At first glance, these ratios might justify a nerf. However, other aircraft perform similarly—or even better—without receiving the same treatment. For example, the JA37C, with 6,636,996 spawns, has:
Kills per Spawn: 1.08
Kills per Death: 1.43
The argument that the M2K-5F deserves a nerf solely because of its ratios is questionable, especially when other planes have equal or superior statistics. Here are a few examples:
XP-50 with 6,877,746 Spawns :
Kills per Spawn1.09
Kills per Death1.37
J-7E with 6,763,332 Spawns :
Kills per Spawn1.07
Kills per Death1.60
(JPN)F-5A with 156,122 Spawns (lack of data):
Kills per Spawn1.07
Kills per Death1.47
While the M2K-5F performs well, its stats are not significantly better than those of other aircraft. The question remains: Why target the M2K-5F specifically when others demonstrate similar or even stronger performance?
Most other 13.7 BR jets have slightly lower stats. The closest competitor, the J10A, has a Kills per Spawn ratio less than 0.01 lower and a Kills per Death ratio just 0.06 lower. The majority of 13.7 jets hover just below 1 Kill per Spawn, with many performing even worse. For example, the F-15E with 12,026,261 spawns has:
Kills per Spawn 0.76
Kills per Death 0.94
Since the most played jets are also the most frequently destroyed, relying solely on these statistics to justify nerfs is flawed. If this logic were applied consistently, underperforming planes like the F-15E would receive massive—and unjustified—buffs, which clearly doesn’t align with actual gameplay balance.
Also if you compare purely on data the Tornado ADV has insane numbers with 791,937 Spawns :
Sample size and player base are crucial factors. A smaller player base means the data is less reliable for balance decisions. For example, just because the F-16C has poor statistics doesn’t mean it’s a weak aircraft—look at the F-4S, which has terrible stats on paper but is extremely effective. Raw data alone doesn’t tell the full story.
But in Gaijin eyes this is not the case.
Also look at ground kills, M2K if all you care is data needs a buff in it’s ordinance.
By monthly stats, it is THE best performing 13.7, full stop, no discussion. MICAs are just that good, very much evidently.
Low number of games? Uh, not really, taking into account both French and Chinese (identical), it has more games than, for instance:
GB/IT Typhoons (not combined)
DE/SW hornets (not combined)
Mirage 2000C-S4/5 (combined)
F4 ICE
F-15JM
F-15C
JAS-39 (any of the 5)
The ONLY purpose is not to find wich plane is Better just why nerf it, does it deserve to go to
14.0, imo it does not, it does not overperforms or is broken just is nerfed because of gaijin nerfs depending of data and only data nothing else.
Also you still don’t take into account PLAYERBASE, that F16C has 29M games with a 50 ish percent wr playerbase so yeah the data is bad.
Stop the ragebait, MAW with only 4 missiles at 13.7 yet next patch some F16 A MLU will have the same AIM120 with no HMS too yet at 13.3 not 13.7. How can this be fair ?
Yup it sure is but same as the other person does it deserve it because it is #1 ? No this is just pure stupid, other things come into account like playerbase (already said) plus don’t take out of context info, like
I did not say it has a low number overall, i said compared to others, plus if you don’t add Typhoons not combined and combine M2K-5F what is the purpose, then it is just an unfair comparison.
Oh, comparatively? Then lets compare. More games than 5 (!) toptier, end-of-the-line planes of 5 different nations. So yes, comparatively it is popular. Not quiet mainstream (those people skip it and go for the rafale), but not too far either.
Also, “nerf”? The only thing you are losing is the ability to dunk 12.7’s with mica’s really. Oh well, the best performing 13.7 in the games is in shambles I guess.
