Okay, to start off Im not going to pretend Im a super above-average player on grb. Im more of an Air main anyway and I really enjoy TT air rb as I do pretty good in it.
But When it comes to ground, it seems that America is the worst nation at top tier, just based on win rates. And I want to know how much of it is the tank and how much of it is the player? Obviously the Abrams is underperforming and is lacking compared to other nations, but is it really the worst 12.7 tank in the game??
So the Abrams is worse than the Leclerc and the Ariet? Once again im a pretty average GRB player with not exceptional stats but the abrams is not this bad of a tank is it?
Most of my deaths anyway are from LMUR’s and KH38s, and ive always been F2p (unless you count selling event vehicles to spend on the occasional pack and premium account) but I feel that this is crazy. Stock grind also seems to be a huge part of the issue with playing top tier as going against Russians with heat is awful lol.
Or maybe am I art of the problem? Feel free to check my statshark stats on my Abrams’s and tell me if i suck just like the rest of them.
You cannot contribute winrates in grb to one or two vehicles only since entire lineups are being played (unless there’s a huge exception like release BMPT).
I know this is sarcasm but just in case it’s misunderstood I’m not saying it is the vehicle fault, I’m simply asking if the same players that played Russia would switch to America, would the win rate still be the same.
Basically are the players mainly the cause of the low rates of can we also contribute it to the underperforming or tricky to play well tanks :).
Not saying one is correct just asking the general consensus out of curiosity
As I said I’m an Air main that happens to play grb on the side so I really don’t care about the Abrams all too much. I actually find the tank quite fun and tricky to play which I enjoy
Well, the thing I have pointed out to others is things like the BMPT, KH30whatever number, LIMUR, these are force multipliers. Other nations don’t have an equal analog to them.
While TECHNICALLY there are nations with atgms helis, planes, etc… you get my point.
Good players can make bad tanks play well. The abrams is good, and it will be a lot better with its turret ring fix (if done right).
The hardest part currently for it is gettjng sprayed down through smoke and around corners by BMPTS (pre firing, not aaying the bullets curve). These auto cannons randomly popping through and turning half the internals black is game breaking.
That said, one of the hardest parts of balancing is deciding whats player skill vs. Bad design. An MBT may have a player base with a skill issue, but a mbt getting frontally penned by an auto cannon is just poor deisng work.
So I guess what I’m taking from this mostly is that the reason the nations with clearly worse tanks (France, Italy) are doing alright is mainly just being carried by the skill of the players.
And yeah I am excited to see how much the turret ring fix helps the Abrams
American, German, and Russian tanks are a part of the Big Three. Which means the majority of the player base (and majority means anything beyond 50%) plays these three nations. The reasoning behind it is not important, but what is important is that American players will buy the Abrams thinking, “well the Abrams is invincible in real life, that means it will be great in game!” and then die repeatedly not knowing what they’re doing wrong.
Don’t get me wrong, the Abrams in game is an absolute joke: thin armour, turret sitting way too high, hull armour getting denied upgrades because the Devs refuse to do their jobs. However, it is still a good tank when played properly. Some say it’s top three, I am iffy on that statement, but at the same time, I really cannot think of any other tank that is better.
On top of that, we can already see that it typically is the players. Look at the Formosan Abrams in the Chinese tech tree. You actually had to grind for that, not just spend $70 on a Click-Bait Abrams. Australian Abrams will be no different, actually, I think it would be more successful, since British players already have experience with that play style. Chinese tanks play like a mobile Russian tank, while British tanks are more snipers than anything else.
A good chunk is due to the Player and CAS Dominance.
M1A2 is one of the best MBT in the Game. An unspaded M1A2T on low-Crew is already better than an aced 99A for example, not even close. Or VT4A1 thats an 11.7-12BR Tank sitting at 12.7BR but still performing good…because the average Player is just simply better and China is often teamed with USSR so got best CAS and best SPAA…
I think largest chunk is due to CAS / SPAA. USSR absolutely dominates in both. A Top Tier Match is hardly ever won by Ground Vehicles / good Ground Player; its almost always who was the best CAS / SPAA.
Except America has the better CAS for 99% of the game (exaggeration, but not really). I mean, what prop plane does Russia have that is better at CAS than American props? That one Yak at 5.0? Maybe the Pe-8 if this was 2023. Cool, now let’s talk about the plethora of 500 and 1,000 pound bombs the Americans can carry: P-47, P-51, F-4 (naval prop), etc., the Americans dominate there.
Let’s talk early jets. What Russian jet has amazing CAS? The MiGs? Laughable, they get some decent rockets, but that’s about it. The bomb load is hilariously bad. The Sukhoi? Nothing spectacular. The Yaks? No. Meanwhile the F-84 has the 500 and 1,000 pounders, F-86 has them, plus better rockets, A-4 is quite an amazing piece of kit, F-100 has an amazing payload.
How about early modern jets (Rank 7)? MiG 21 and 23 have pathetic bomb loads, no FNF AGMs, plus you have to give up all your missiles (or at least half) if you want to run effective CAS. Su-17s get two TV guided munitions, that’s about it, the rest is bad bombs and meh rockets. Su-25 is meh, gets some good bombs, some good rockets, that’s about it. Meanwhile America has the A-10 with 6 FNF AGMs, massive bomb and rocket load, and can still keep their AIM 9Ls. Phantom É which gets AGMs, TV guided bombs, rockets, bombs, and can keep their Sparrows and Sidewinders. Harrier is just a Harrier.
Rank 8 and 9 is the only time Russia has the upper hand, and that’s with the Kh-38s on the Su-25, 30s, and 34. But for the longest time, America had the superiority in CAS with the F-15s and F-16s.
Abrams is the second best family of MBT in-game which is only getting stronger this coming major update. Only beaten by the Leopard 2 in survivability but they are equal in firepower and mobility.
Ariete is one of the weakest MBTs at top tier currently. LeClerc is in the middile.
Overall line-up does play a factor, but even in this the US is stronger or on-par with both Italy and France
Ehhh, technically you can. I remember a friend of mine going 12-1 with the KV-7 and Yak-9 combo (or whatever that KV event vehicle at 4.0 was). I think he was at 9 elims with the Yak when the game ended since everyone quit when they saw the feed and it was nothing but Yak 9s.
Otherwise, city maps are easy to get bombing runs done with multi elims. Just bomb the spawn near A point on the Rhine.
