Title. Everytime I try in either arcade or realistic I am shot down. There was one exception where I was able to hit a destroyer and get a kill assist.
Need a fast bomber with a big payload, ju288 is a good example at least in my expierence.
You ever try torps/ naval mines? Have any success with those?
I find that the launch conditions for torp are too suicidal, but I havent tried too much. Naval mines would be good if they didnt have indicators in realistic but they do for some reason.
when you bomb you have to try and get ships that are not all bunched up together. try to bomb the ones on the outside of the pack. Naval mines work good if you put them in the paths away from spawn. I never have much luck with torp runs.
You need to be fast and small and the higher the attitude the better it is.
get a wyvern, load it with RP3 rockets and a torpedo and kamikaze.
either that or learn how to do stupidly far off bomb tossing
I’ve successfully dive bombed before in the wyvern. Even managed to rtb afterwards as well.
It’s a lot harder since they buffed the AAA - but as others have said - pick your target carefully - isolated ships with weak AA are best… surprising huh?!
I’ve had some success with torpedoes - success compared to bombing now that is, not compared to bombing previously! Torps can get hits from 2-3km away, which helps survivability, although realistically your odds are only reasonable vs bots - players should easily dodge from that distance.
Yes, its a roulette if I survive the post drop turn but regardless if they are in a fleet or alone, easy
The AI are entirely predictive on your current heading so just wiggle, do waves up and down and watch them all fly by
Lancaster, PE8, 288, G8N1, you can take them to any naval BR and kill things if you know how to slip through.
As for torpedoes, I find the Japanese to be the best, with quite a few torpedoes that can be dropped quite high and, above all, quickly.
Because torpedoes that you have to drop at 200 km/h are a dead end; you’ll get shot down first.
Otherwise, as mentioned above, choose an isolated target, if possible with not too many defenses. Either climb very high, or, what I prefer, fly low, using the terrain to hide and get as close as possible, and at the last moment, pop up and unleash everything!
yeah, you need a fast plane that accelerate fast too.
You need to be super low, hug the sea
Now everything will relly on the angle of attack, either attack the ship from the front, or the back, simply because usually there’s less AA canons.
Side is suicidal ofc
being super low make it that the closer you get, the less angle the AA canon will have, mainly blocked by the hull and the main gun turret. Front/Back and low make the superstructure block the middle AA
so yeah, being high will give all AA opportunity to attack, and side too.
Like some said you can also wiggle on your yaw axis to confuse the AA.
Spot target, one that’s isolated, use islands and terrain to get as close as possible and get into the right position, all of that while still needing good speed, so no easy task. And efforts aren’t finished because now you need to drop your bombs/rockets accurately, and evade crashing.
Ofc it highly depends on the ship you’ll attack and it’s AA armement
I think this technique works, i had succes with it, using bombs primarily.
Yes.
Or if you have it you could use the ki48 with the ki148 that has 12km range or the Hs293 (8.5km) on the he177a3
Or the tt he 177 a5/He111h6 with the fritz X
Don’t you have to be fairly close to hit with rockets? Also, do the rockets do much damage?
not really
