So apparently with premium you get a 100% boost of research during “play time.” So usually 3½ kills will get you a “modification upgrade” I’m sure most of us would like a buff for stock grinding. But just a thought. I do like to grind for fun, it just is pain!

Simple. Just invest in premium. If you wait until they have their sales, buying premium in bulk when it goes 50% off, you can get it on the cheap. That’s what I do.
It has other advantages, as you don’t lose SL with premium account, outside of buying vehicles and teamkilling.

I have a premium account and still am behind on spading vehicles. I research vehicles far faster than i can spade them. Currently i am BR 9.3 in planes and only have spaded up to 4.0. And i dont even use a premium vehicle for research.
Ground it is the same, especially the PUMA is very very bad to stock grind. TWENTY TWO MODIFICATIONS are insane, it takes forever!

That’s nearly always better as each individual modification is cheaper, so you can get the essential mods so much faster

I do have premium bro…
They want to get more people playing more than one TT but the grind to get out one TT is horribly long and offputting to start all over again, with a new crew, crew slots you have to buy again, and the slow grind to get your crew up to par while trying to make a dent to get higher tiers unlocked. Im doing the big 3 but after that i think im done with my grinding.
With high tier vehicle you need 40-50 games of pain to get the most important upgrades then start playing with less pain. The goal is simple : Buy premiums or spend money to buy upgrades, first option is better as you get better vehicles, then, as vehicle from standard research tree are slower and/or less mobility and/or longer reload time and/or easier to destroy and/or etc …, just use premiums vehicles, and pay to play as 40-50% players do, gaijin will thanks you.

Yea, I don’t understand why Gaijin refuse to give chaff, dumb bombs, and rockets to the top tier planes for free. The top tier vehicles have so many mods now.
The real joke is how different the grind is for different vehicles, Russia MBTs get a far easier stock grind than other NATO vehicles for example, Japan especially get screwed over by having to grind to tier 3 for APFSDS whilst others get it stock.
Don’t all top tier vehicles get APFSDS stock? Which vehicles are you referring too?

Tanks that only have 1 APFSDS available don’t get it stock, a Type 90 for example.
I would say some modifcations should be directly installed if a new vehicle is purchased. Like the repair kit, fire extinguishers, advanced rangefinders (or laserrangefinders) and artillery strike. Because I think these modification are very important to have and if haven’t them yet, you have a very big disadvantage.

The Type 90 is rank 7 and not top tier. No rank 7 tanks get APFSDS stock unless it’s their only normal shell type (HSTVL etc). It’s only the rank 8 tanks that get stock APFSDS, French rank 7 Leclercs (still BR 11.7) don’t get AP stock, where as the rank 8 Leclercs do.

It is their only normal shell type, they have no HEAT. The Finnish 2A4 comes with HEAT stock.
Yet they all get it as their tier 1 modification regardless.
Yeah the Leclerc has a mediocre AP as T1, with the best at T4. The Type 90 gets their best (and only) at T2, seems like a fair trade…
it’s much better than it used to be - i’m fine with it as it is. i think it’s ok now. you just can’t drive such a vehicle in the front. wait at the back and you often have 3-4 shots that’s enough to get ahead.
