So recently I discovered that during world war II testing on both sides showed that additional armor such as tracks on the hull of the tank would actually lower its survivability.
(For those who don’t know: The reason for this is the softer metal would cause the shells to normalize better and therefore penetrate more effectively surpassing the additional thickness of the softer material on top of the harder hull. Armor wood work effectively against chemical shells like HESH and HEAT but the counterproductive for kinetic rounds )
I’m just curious on how accurate the shell modeling is on war thunder and if running additional armor with a softer material actually negatively affects your tank survivability.
