I think the IS-7 (got it back in 2018 so it’s a very old forgotten tank) and some similar tanks should get ammo box for how fast the ammo is depleted and that fact that battle/single cap point maps exist.
The thing about it is that it cannot do a slow reload if the autoloader ran out of ammo, must replenish it.
So why not add ammo box mechanic to compensate for that? Would make these tanks actually worthwhile again in the face of APFSDS and stabilizers.
Any under 10 rounds, no-slow-reload tanks should get ammo box in fact.
Only tanks classified as tank destroyers and SPAA get ammo boxes afaik. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a situation with a tank that has a slow reload where I needed an ammo box, which leads me to believe this is an issue on your end.
Heavy tanks don’t get ammo box, and IS-7 has a deep enough magazine to play a full match without needing to sit on a cap to replenish. If you find yourself running the autoloader dry and needing to get it refilled at a cap, that’s entirely your fault for shooting everything and not considering your ready ammo supply.
Skill issue, 100%. French tanks have much faster autoloaders that run dry faster and replenish slowly and there’s no problem with them being out of ammo unless the player is bad.
Ammo boxes should be removed for everything but SPAAs. It’s bad enough that SPHs can exploit them to take reduced ammo loads to make them near impossible to ammo rack.
Gaijin should take in consideration the design and whatnot for ready-rack stowage replenishment. Begleitpanzer 57 is a example of very slow ready-rack stowage replenishment, which can’t last long for much, this same issue is present in Lvkv 9040C and similars, however, some like the Schützenpanzer PUMA with automatic ready-rack stowage replenishment can load ready-rack really quickly for a brief moment you stop shooting.
If they give IS-7 ammo box, they should give BTR-82-AT an ammo box, since it really is a glorified ATGM slinger (with a 30mm strapped on), amongst the ATGM slingers in the tree, with only 4 ATGM.
do you really get away with 30 kills each game, or do you shoot ghosts with it? I never got to do more than 20 shots in GRB with 122-130mm soviet tanks, and even that 20 was outstanding. Its highly unlikely to spend more than 15 shots ingame, and i mean it as i play 279 alot. Why?
