I play USA 6.7 a lot. Including the M6E1 a lot. When I’m up against the Maus or IS-4M, I typically have something that can easily nuke it, because I bring a line-up. We seem to have different ideas of how well the IS-4M is armoured.
I agree it sucks the way it is now but at 7.3 it will curbstomp hard in downtier, it’s in a weird spot sadly, just like the IS-6
Just because you have some HE slinger in a lineup that can deal with it (if he is clueless that is) doesn’t make it any more balanced.
Having one tank that limits what you can and cannot play at certain BR in certain MM is not healthy for the game.
If you were to get uptiered fro. 6.3, 6.7 or whatever and run into a squad of things like IS-4s you are basically forced to play a few certain things to even have a chance at dealing with them. This is toxic.
Stuff like KV-1B or KV-1E didn’t suddenly become balanced after Gaijin added M44s. No?
IS-6 could go back to 7.3 as it’s turret is fairly vulnerable even to APHE.
IS-4 sadly isn’t in such a spot
Yes tiger II can pen the turrett side if i’m not mistaken, at 7.7 is pretty useless to be honest and if we add the the fact that this tank is premium, one expects it to be good and not junk since you have to pay for it
6.3s should struggle to kill 7.3 heavy, that’s their point lol.
HE slingers aren’t that rare nor are HEAT ones.
IS-4M, Maus, Conqueror, and M103 are all amazing 7.7s.
Su-122 uses a different cannon.
Hard to kill and invulnerable unless you destroy the it’s gun, both tracks, kill everyone supporting him while continuously destroying his gun and drive around him isn’t the same thing.
IS-4M definitely isn’t amazing, but it’s not itself that is a problem, but rather insane compression around early cold war BR areas
There hasn’t been “insane compression” since 2022.
You should know that heavy tanks of all things are by far the most prone to being affected by BR compression.
IS-4M is good in a downtier, maybe decent even up to 8.0 uptier. But anywhere above that it’s just a driving pile of RP and SL for the enemy

There is at maximum 4 top-BR tanks on any enemy team.
At least 75% of the time you’re facing 7.7s and 7.7s with slightly better rounds [8.0s] since 8.3 doesn’t exist as lineups.
Don’t fight 8.7s alone, don’t put yourself in that situation.

Russia has a pretty good 8.0 / 8.3 lineup too. The T10M is right fun, with two 14.5mm Heavy MGs and that badass 122mm cannon, love the apds on it.
then the T55A while not great is a decent all round tank to have, backed up with an object 906, whatever cas you fancy and the shilka

How do you mean?
I mean the compression still seems pretty bad as well as the gaps in coverage. Games got a lot of issues of varying type.
