The IrisT is on a whole different level when it comes to energy. The FB10A is a brick beyond 8-9km, the IrisT on the other hand can clap you at 20km+. The problem is you cannot dodge the missile or flare it. As you said if the map doesn’t give you hard cover like a mountain you are guaranteed dead.
There has to be some kind of counter to it otherwise it’s just bad game design. And that counter needs to keep the 70SP vs 800+SP in to account.
If it claps you at 20km then u flew realy badly. Gajin has it modeled very badly.
That sounds more like u got problems in general in defeating ir missles. If you can dodge aim9ms u can dodge iris t.
Since iris t doesnr actualy have improved seekwrs yet
More like 13 km, that’s when it loses most of its energy and goes subsonic from some tests we did a while back. It can only get you from that far if you’re literally flying in a straight line.
And you can always put a hill or something in between you to not die right away.
That’s just my experience from when the IrisT was released. I have to admit that I haven’t had any issues with it since the 4km seeker nerf, but I remember correctly the times where a IrisT was launched at me the moment I spawned I wasn’t able to do anything to dodge it. Especially with a lot of maps offering no hard cover and trees don’t over visual protection.
It’s nice having the real missile’s capabilities back but I suspect they did this because they couldn’t get Datalink to work properly. So the missile would never reach the target back when it was nerfed, since it would lose DL the moment a target went off radar…
Yeah, this is one of those video game concessions I am willing to accept, since all maps are 20x20 km. But knock on good, the nerf wouldn’t have been nearly as bad if they actually had managed to implement working Datalink. The reason it was so hard and miserable to use after the nerf was the fact that Datalink does not work, so when a target went off radar for a second and reappear, the missile would not change course back to the target. It essentially went dumb and flew only on IOG. Does that mean I want the nerf back? Hell no. The only reason this thing works at all is because of the lock range.
You don’t even own it, you have almost nothing to say but to complain about it. I wish you had experienced how brutal the nerf was, it was impossible to use. Gaijin reverting it back to release status was more than justified. But of course you were okay with it because it made the game easier for you lol.
I don’t need to own it, i play CAS a lot and i know every system and how it is to play against.
I agree, which i was about to say earlier as well before the other guy started his usual behavior again. But know it’s just over the top in the other direction again.
It doesn’t just face KH38 planes, as you know.
If you own it, and know how to play against it, then why complain? I don’t even complain about how BUK can literally spawn camp you in maps like Eastern Europe where you literally have no cover, and you will eventually die to splash, or how AIM-9X can annihilate you if you dare come in close.
They needed to revert the nerf because CAS is now stronger than has ever been, now that Japan with the Su-30, Grippen and the Eurofighters all joined the party. I don’t even know what you mean by “over the top”, this is what IRIS-T has always been since release, it is no different from then. And SLM can be taken out by any top tier helicopter, SLM is completely hopeless against DLRICM. So there is still that which balances it out.
Since your immediate reaction to my clapback was crying about what a bad at the game meanie I am I’d say you care more than you’d like to admit
Also dont hit me with the I don’t care what you think after literally formulating an argument that warrants an answer
Back to what it should be and it is still missing more features lol. Maybe you should ask yourself what you could’ve had done different to improve and become a better pilot instead of complaining about it like a baby.
