Sad to see how bad this thing is right now. It’s so bad that I even get more kills with the Flarakrad than with the IRIS-T SLM, and that’s sad. I don’t know why they changed the seeker, but 4 km is not realistic 10–20 km is real. Everything below that is fake or Gaijin “top-secret documents,” I don’t know. I think it needs to be reset to 10 km; without that, the missile flies in every direction except toward the target.
Can somebody tell me why the iris t is affektet by Lircm
This report which was tagged “not a bug” (gaijin seems to be oblivious to a mode called “Home on Jam (HOJ)” for cases the missile is blinded):
But there’s another one here accepted five months ago: Community Bug Reporting System
Nice that they dont fix it
Does the German community lack such organizers? I’ve observed the Chinese community, where forum administrators compile issues and materials, centrally provide feedback, and follow up on them. This ensures that GAIJIN does not take them lightly. In contrast, GAIJIN arbitrarily weakens German vehicles without garnering much attention.
the hell did they even mean by “we are considering adding limitations”
as if thats a balancing decision???
the thing can only shine its laser at one seeker at a time
This is how IRIS-T would work against IRCM, the seeker would just shut off and the missile would carry on DL+IOG. A report was made about the lack of DL guidance on the terminal phase, lords knows when they act on it.
When your broken game accidentally depicts the missile correctly.
Yes Gajin, take your time. Until then Mi-28 butchers the whole game mode as it used to be.
(While inbalanced German units get “quick fixes” and BR bumps less than a week after rollout.)
Like what the f*ck is the point of IRIS-T anymore after everyone gets LDIRCM this next update?
They should quit sugarcoating the situation and remove it from the game, since there is no way of balancing it. Gaijin was grinding their teeth out at the idea of IRIS-T being in the game and knew this missile was busted and ahead of everything else in the game. Just remove it like they did with the Maus and replace it with a Patriot system or another ARH from the DDR or whatever.
They will likely lower its BR. Its not really good anymore. You need to fire almost all your missiles to down 2 jets. It one of the dumbest missile ingame. So it could be lowered to not face dircm anymore.
(While Diehl Defense states its seeker is immune.)
The SPYDER is 12.7 despite being worse in almost every metric, so I doubt it, I’d much rather have them remove it, because it is impossible to balance this missile.
They could make it behave more like a SARH missile against helicopters, it works well against them when IRIS-T flies on DL+IOG by pure chance or accident, and increase the lock range for planes, but at that point, I’d much rather have another a dedicated ARH system like the German Patriot or some DDR BUK…
Gaijin clearly has no intentions to give IRIS-T any counter IRCM measures, not until they decide helicopters have had enough fun terrorizing GRB, much like when Ka-52s had when they could ripple fire missiles and made all SACLOS SPAAs suffer.
From what I’ve seen, balance > historical accuracy.
It most likely is a balancing decision for them. If their stats show DIRCM is doing better than what they’ve planned, it’s very likely that limitation will be implemented.
I suppose it might get nerfed the moment planes get their ARMs, so CAS doesn’t “suffer” without their cheesy mechanics.
how much longer are they gonna wait though? its getting kinda ridiculous
I believe they had enough time to change it by now, seeing how that response was made six months ago. They’re probably waiting for the new FOTM for CAS to arrive.
DDR / GDR hat S-300PMU, this would be probably the best from East German NVA. Two complexes organised in FRA 4351 (FlugabwehrRaketenAbteilung 4351). Ger TT should get something like his ASAP. Iris-T is not able to shot most common air threats in WT.
I think the GDR S-300 is not ARH, it is SARH and requires a search and a track radar truck, so in game it would require 3 vehicles to work. But so is the BUK M3 I believe, Gaijin made it ARH. The GDR also operated older BUK variants that would be more feasible for the game.
@Smin1080p_WT might I ask if the devs plan to revert the change the seeker lock range to 10km?
Because with 4km its literally worse than the Flarakrad, the Radar of the SLM looses its target so often its just insane :(
Also, it didnt changed anything against LDIRCM Helis, they are still 99% Immune
I’d much rather see Datalink fixes, when a target goes off and on radar the missile will not regain Datalink or change course, it will continue to fly on IOG as if it had no recollection of what it was previously targeting. Also, continuous Datalink guidance means that LDIRCM can be defeated, come on Gaijin.
The key problem would still be the same.
Target sees a ping > Dips to multipath > Vanishes from radar > It’s last course point is underground > “Well I guess I’m killing myself” thinks the missile
Making a damn SARH at 12.7 is diabolical job.
