Iris-t slm

This is off topic as well so let’s not continue what’s fake and real and why it’s this way in game.

I know that. You need intel of the target area irl. And launch the missile. The seeker activates when it comes close. There’s alot coms neccessary, possible a drone feed, a drone operator etc etc

INGAME you hover up, hug your target view. Look a specific target from many km away and the LMUR guides all the way until it impacts. Easy to do solo work.

AND THATs not how it works. Its fake how it is ingame. It would be realisitic if it required the input of several other players. But as it is right now…sry…no.

We tested bombs, zunis and mavericks, same things.

Tho i do have to say that in regular games instead of just custom games its way more 50/50 on spoofing or not.

IRIS-T SLM changes targets mid flight 2

Not my bug report and it says it hasnt been fixed, so no?

As for the moment arm of the missile, I still havent been able to test that cuz the guy who was gonna help me setup custom missile testing (I used to have it on my old PC years ago, but forgot where/how to setup the mission) has ghosted me

“Ghosting you after say i would help you is crazy sry for you dude”

so the irist still has 25 fin aoa instead of 38.50 aoa which explain why it can go 40g

the problem is and was the radar

Ah yeah, the radar, it should being able to track the target 3 times on single scan like in this video

I bet there’s a mode that swings it only within that angle to make update rate pretty much constant. But we’ll never see it, because it’s an ingame engine limitation

Oh wait, how could I forget the zsu-37-2…

There is a mode like that indeed, it provides 100 degree of horizontal coverage (and -2 +70 elevation iirc, forgot 4D elevation coverage) of electronic coverage.
The problem is, that in stare/fixed/zone mode other radars turn with the turret, for ti’s one, they would have to make a code that lock it to for example the direction you are looking at, and they are yet to make it.

Well I could see where they were going with this, as far as I know the missile uses seeker shutoff + shrinking FOV. As such, activating seeker at 10km still leaves it with absolutely gigantic FOV to see flares, rockets, whatever, thus kind of defeating the point.

Before the change, a common tactic I knew was just pre-flaring at all times 24/7, which exploited said FOV.

Good idea, dogwater implementation.

Yep you could preflare IRIS missiles quite easily. But now they are worse at long range

Wrong, it’s not worse, it’s utterly useless.
Want another funny? Pantsir is literally miles better than IRIS-T now.

kinda happy about that ngl

always was

Maybe BR can be reduced, since IRIS cant fight most of common air threats around 12.7 BR. It needs to be lowered so it won’t encounter DIRCM equipped enemy jets/helis.

Its really bad now. So -1.3 BR would be justified.

you want the IRIS at 11.7??? LMAO do you listen do your self

Yeah ngl that is kinda an insane take

Tbh it should and it shouldn’t at the same time, the lock range nerf totally justify a BR change, but we are still talking about the SLM, so at a lower BR you will still have a 16 missile slinger, that might cause a problem to jets at such BRs
