People are making a big deal of of a change, that is is bringing ESA trackers to plane standard. Tho it will make detection of new targets not instantaneous, so a slight nerf.
PESA can still do it. Also HQ17 is also AESA.

We have a early HQ, that is still PESA.
Datalink, please fix it, missiles losing track the moment a missile or bomb gets in front of a plane is annoying.
Tested the system, around 100+ish games. Here are a few key issues, that mostly haven’t been discussed here yet. Ordered from high impact, to low impact:
- Networking/Datalink: C2/Link 16 not working - Launchers, Missiles (own or other allies), shared targets not visible. You can’t see you own launchers.
Details
Targets scouted by your radar, or teammates is not correctly shared, and can’t be used to target threats outside your own radar coverage (or when radar turned off). This is very problematic as you need to airborne or rear echelon radars to coordinate air defense. Or need to rely on tactical radars in mountains terrain. Its called networked and layered air defense for a reason.
Other allied tanks also can’t see threats on their BMS maps, and react accordingly (e.g. incoming missiles).
- Aircraft spawn too close, at 20-25km, rather than 100km (so you can’t really intercept them in time).
Details
By the time your missile reaches them, they are already at 15km dropping their payloads. I’ve only seen maybe 2-3 instances where an aircraft was at 30-35km. For the same reason long range systems (Patriot, Buk, S300,…) will be useless (Flying brick missiles, bad seekers, larger inner deadzone)
Due to the other bug, where your missile goes for their launched weapons instead of the target, means you have a very limited window where you can effectively engage them

Datalink no longer works once radar contact is briefly lost (missile can’t re-engage). Meaning a missile that is on the right trajectory to the target won’t course correct anymore

This ties into how sensor fusion works —> IOG / DL fall back not working once IR is lost. In general DL doesn’t seem to be correctly maintained on all missiles. Order of operation seems broken.

IIR also goes for wrong targets, which shouldn’t be happening due to DL and target pattern matching

There seems to be a very popular cheat of a kill aura, that deflects/blocks all missiles (mostly seen on Russian and chinese). Hope they patch it soon or issue a ban wave.

Bug makes it impossible most of the time to launch missiles when controlling the radar vehicle, only by switching to TEL you can fire, which loses lots of time.

Missiles can’t be assigned new targets mid flight (e.g. when target 1 is destroyed)

UI: Active missiles are not listed (position, status, parameters, tracking, mode…)
→ no option to terminate missile (e.g to prevent friendly fire)
→ No track history/ track prediction -
missile locks targets super late via IIR (20-25km lock range - someone should test afterburner lock range)

Radar lookback not working (results in bad initial track, slow update rate). Radar in general returns many bad results - ghosting, or missiles flying backwards

It’s a waste of time to attempt interception of ammo - success rate is too low. Bad UI also means you can’t tell which intercept failed/which succeeded. Glide bombs can be ignored, just move out of the way/into cover when you see them coming.

Selection of rear echelon spawn (airfield, heli pad etc) still broken (vehicle also randomly blows up when trying to drive there). As a result only few maps are playable

Spotting/Rendering system is broken: When controlling TEL, sometimes enemy tanks wont render at all, even if you crash into them, or they shoot you. Scouting on them is broken for the same reason.

CC (cruise control): Doesn’t work on Radar/launchers when not controlling them. Radar vehicle pulls handbrake despite CC when switching to TEL. TELS keep speed rather than respecting the CC. This makes moving all 3 vehicles at the same time super annoying

Engine missing 200 hp (UA crew confirming 628hp https://youtu.be/gkyaOai1W7s?t=2311) @Dontkev-psn Maybe you can find some more information for a report.

radar sometimes bugs out and doesn’t show targets when you toggle it while switching between vehicles.(This also breaks its animation/pose)

radar screen is bad: Cant pan the map, or easily zoom in. No colors identifying the sides (Its not the 70s anymore, we got colored screens)

Loft is horrible, but does not impact hitrate that much
Some more trivia:
- My Longest Kinect intercept: incoming SU- At 32km distance and 9km altitude, after he tried to outrun my missile and turned around - flying straight into it. Couldnt really try longer ranges, as aircraft never go that far.
Some stats on what I killed most commonly:

K/D seems to go for around 6.0 K/D atm, would probably be quite a bit higher, but kill aura cheaters are a big problem atm.
This is unrelated, but this is the current vehicle popularity at 12.0 (based on deaths):
- Got Teamkilled: 5 times (3x by aircraft, 2x tanks)
- Teamkilled myself: 1xF-18, 1x Rcon drone (not sure how, as IIR seeker warhead should not fuze on them)
- Watched a CLAWS kill itself: missile 5 meters after launch, did a 180° and killed both the launcher and radar
- Multiple times jets tried to outrun IRIST-T and then just gave up and j-ed out.
Maps:
- Playable maps with the broken spawn selection are: Fulda, Surroundings of Val, european province (large), Kursk (N spawn), Fields of Poland (large)
Playing smaller maps is pointless, so queue time is quite long around 15-30min, sometimes more, sometimes less (iykyk)
Cauldron maps like Sands of Sianai are generally bad. You can’t hide, you cant leave your spawn, while aircraft can hide behind the mountains and lob ammunition. Specifically bad as Helis with DIRCM are often unkillable.

The IRIS-T SLM air defense system will use the protected WLS interchangeable loader system in the variant for the Bundeswehr as a launch vehicle, based on vehicles in the 15t class of Rheinmetall, type HX2. The exact equipment and technical data are currently still in the final vote.
The Issue, the truck which we have in game, is just an gap filler and can have diffrent Engines, the final one will be the HX2 which is armored

Looks like the cabin irl has MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) level of protection (its an upgrade kit for MAN BW trucks). Wounder wheter it’ll help against splash damage or radar dish snipes. Ingame its totally unarmored.
