That’s contradicts the designation “Directed Infrared Contermeasure”…
Seems like they just implemented the normal IRCM (which only works against all non-IIR missiles in range) but made it also work against IIR seekers.
So how are we supposed to counter helies now that SLM useless?
as currently only the last Mi-8 and Mi-28NM are immune, other helis can normally be killed
KA-52 will also get something
it allready has its own DIRCM on live; but that is nowhere as effective
i mean near wheels was it always a thing or new from TheEuropeanCanadian https://youtu.be/GfxtOkPNsoc?si=jPuYrHE9d-dVFmew&t=971
Meanwhile the CAPTOR-M does not get priority track despite the functionality already being in-game for ESA, with the difference being an update rate of 2 sec. Why? Because apparently it would not be a realistic enough approximation.
I sincerely hope that the DIRCM will get changed to only work on one missile at the same time if they don’t want to model the IRIS-T’s immunity, because otherwise those are double standards if I ever saw some.
about that, TEC is talking nonesense since this is allready an thing on Live since years…
just the latest Mi-8 and Mi-28NM are getting the OP LDIRCM
just wonder how true is that to real life how effective those DIRCM really are or its just extreme biased buff IRL manpads still take down those
What does the LDIRCM on the Mi-8 look like?
On the MI-28MN it’s clear as day they should rework the coverage zones as it should be useless against IR coming from above or even from in front of it, it’s placed in a way to defeat manpads coming from the side and behind the helicopter.
Also looking at the video, some of the misses (at 2:08 and 2:37 specifically) seem like they should still trigger the proxy-fuse of the missile or does DIRCM affect them as well?
At least the IRIS-T uses a Ku band radar proxy fuse, so the DIRCM shouldn’t jam that.
Talking of which :

Hope it helps, i’ll try to find more sources
if you make bug report will be told that its just propaganda
2.46.0.31 is out, and they made the mouse always-active in the radar control screen, however, it also always fires your weapons when you click something, so you can’t actually interact with any of the scopes or the target list anymore.
I was expecting that
i use the middle mouse button to click them and the left to fire, works like a charm. typical WT where you need to use very weird keybinds that you will forget if you stop playing for 2 weeks
given the number of air targets you may encounter, it just lacks integration with excel now so that you can sort or filter the table or write a macro (if distance >3.5km and <5km => fire derby) ;-)
prob in todays dev server update, they may have changed it cause they want SAM ranges to not go past 20km at the moment, so by changing it they can justify the less range
they did so yesterday
