Iris-t slm

if you make bug report will be told that its just propaganda

2.46.0.31 is out, and they made the mouse always-active in the radar control screen, however, it also always fires your weapons when you click something, so you can’t actually interact with any of the scopes or the target list anymore.

I was expecting that

i use the middle mouse button to click them and the left to fire, works like a charm. typical WT where you need to use very weird keybinds that you will forget if you stop playing for 2 weeks
given the number of air targets you may encounter, it just lacks integration with excel now so that you can sort or filter the table or write a macro (if distance >3.5km and <5km => fire derby) ;-)

When did they change the name of the missile to IRIS-T SL on the IRIS-T SLM/TADS?

prob in todays dev server update, they may have changed it cause they want SAM ranges to not go past 20km at the moment, so by changing it they can justify the less range

they did so yesterday

I have been avidly watching this thread because I have not touched top tier for awhile due to Russia dominating CAS and SPAA capabilities.

I had high hopes for the IRIS-T SLM finally overtaking the Pantsir as far as spaa effectiveness and thus solving the top tier problem.

As it stands now, it seems that Gaijin is going to make the IRIS-T less effective than the Pantsir and that is unacceptable. I keep seeing moderators say “if you want changes then post your sources” when that is just insulting to the players and absolutely backwards.

They know full well that we won’t be able to find enough primary sources to meet their requirements for an active service, modern military system. In fact, THEY should have to provide their sources for the gimped version of the missile they currently have in game. The missile should already follow the sources you guys have provided and it should be ADJUSTED for balance coming from THERE as a starting point.

This is absolutely ludicrous and insulting and quite honestly deserves another boycott if they intend to continue hiding behind their bug reports and forum.

At the end of the day WT should just be labeled a MMO because historical accuracy is not really a thing anymore, the nerf is 100% intentional because maps are not big enough yet to support these systems.

Providing them with sources is just a formality, you can literally give them a source from Diehl themselves and they will just “Acknowledge it” and then sit on it for years.

Maybe once ground maps are 100x100km for planes then maybe they will consider giving these systems their full capabilities, but right now I don’t see that happening for a very long time.

they already are, for example:
Sinai is 128km x 128km

Most ground maps don’t have a big air version, Vietnam is like 14x14 km, a system like SLM can follow you all the way to the airfield and I think devs realized that and decided to nerf them for now.

the ground version of vietnam is completly different from the air version

i dont see the issue with that, that way Ground RB is Ground focused again and not CAS RB

I quite honestly would understand the need for balance over accuracy if they followed it for everyone but they pull sources out of nowhere to make the KH38 as powerful as it possibly can be and make the Pantsir Mach 4 while having a range greater than literally the map boundary. If that is ok then why is giving IRIS-T SLM it’s effective range and real life speed not acceptable? Why can the Kh38’s be launched and reach their targets in no time flat all before the launching plane even gets within range of danger while the brimstones would be “too OP” to have any guidance other than a laser??

The double standards and lack of communication is what is unacceptable.

yeah that is true especially if you look at how other games handle communication

it would be ok if they give us an explenation on why they change certain stuff

If that is what they have a problem with then just make the missile perform realistically up until a certain range and then make it self detonate. This type of ahistorical nerfing for the sake of balance would be much better as it at least doesn’t kill the missile performance along it’s entire flight path.

Once again goes back to absolutely terrible communication. Nobody has any idea why Gaijin is making the decisions they are because they do not have ANY connection with their player base.

As it stands, I don’t see the IRIS-T SLM being much more effective than the Type 81C has been. Top tier remains in shambles and Gaijin has zero cares about it.

they should do more blogs like they did last year where BVVD anwsered some questions,
if they would do that once every month it would already be much better

its hard to comunicate the fact that they just dont feel like making others equipent as strong as russian ones since russian dev

watch even the acepted missing range report and accepted wrong time to target report not get worked on

its easier to lie about accuracy than it is to lie about balance
