So if the Radar looses track the missile would fail due to not knowing where the target or when the nose cone should come off? unless IOG last known position is close enough
Yeah it uses DL+IOG+GNSS for guidance so if it loses track with the radar it should still fly in the general direction of the target, it has front aspect lock range of 9 km and 12 for rear aspect, I believe.
The missile has a discarding aerodynamic cone, that hides the seeker.
Before that, it flies on DL+IOG+GNSS. The missile will fly to the last known target position if the DL is lost. If it manages to aquire the target it will intercept it, if not, it will miss.
Hmm ok, yeah so it’ll be quite easy to dodge on a map with any sort of terrain
sort of like any other missile
Oh definitely but I feel like the IRIS-T on the Swedish lil boy is going to be harder to dodge if you get in close
Because its designed for close range xD
If up to 40km effective range is close then sure
He was referring to the EldE 98 :P
You mean extremly wasteful? :D
Three course changes including double digit g-maneuvers instead of one parabola.
Vertical → horizontal → climb → horizontal/dive.
Elde has no datalink no?
Are you drunk?
The SLS has an range of 12km…
That’s the point, warthunders maps are tiny aka short range
I thought ur talking about the slm lol
Would be new to me that the Swedish got an SLM lul
Not 30, but 20km flying perpendicular at 3km altitude, launched at 21 km, so pretty much no head-on:
Also ignore the radar on the launcher, I couldn’t get the radar the hensoldt radar to work for some reason. So I just added a radar to the launch platform directly.
Is that a user mission were its also possible to use custom missile configs? If so, could you send it to me, would like to try some stuff.
Not like its real life counter part, but overall, it is better now, though I’d want a higher top speed like maybe at least 1000m/s, at least the current SLM is definitely miles better than the older one at least.
True, but idk if that’s possible because I don’t why they chose Mach 2.75 as the limit. I think rn I care more about getting a more efficient loft and more fin maneuverability
