i think they have intentionally nerfed it. just like how they have nerfed a lot of aircraft till they add more for other tt and balance it. i think they will buff the other spaa depending on their performances , who knows maybe if the entire playerbase plays really badly in the slm/new sams maybe they will BUFF it in the first week.

IDK why somebody said SACLOS but it is essentially DL. Just that the other SPAA with ACLOS like ITO90M and Tor and Pantsir all got SACLOS for some reason. Here it should really be DL.

That’s the problem, bug reports say CLOS. There is no such thing as IR/CLOS in game. Report specifying that it is DL must be made.
Yep, Gunjob said it was a new feature cause the issue guy mistakenly put it as SACLOS and not DL, but it is command update and never said DL, although as implemented it is effectively DL, so it’s hard to do as all the other command updates on SPAA barring IRIST which specifically said DL has been simplified to SACLOS.

Instead of saying, “yeah, we nerfed it for gameplay reasons,” they’re claiming the Mach 3 figure is fake or exaggerated — which honestly doesn’t hold up when multiple reputable sources agree on it.
It’s clearly just a balance call, and that’s fine — but pretending the public data is wrong just feels dishonest.
edt. People expect these systems to reflect their real capabilities, especially when War Thunder markets itself as a realistic sim. Undermining verified data sets a bad precedent. Today it’s IRIS-T — tomorrow it might be something else.

It’s not even a balance call. Compare the current specs with the VT1 specs. The missile is currently worse than the Roland VT1. And nowhere near close to the Pantsir. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
Does it still go for flares?

It can’t be a balance call when they allowed Pantsir to be the best AA for almost 2 years and let the Kh-38 spam run rampant without a proper counter.
The fact that these missiles can’t even break Mach 3 or reach their advertised range while Pantsir still can is not only insulting to the community as a whole but they are basically spitting on the face of the players who eagarly waited for years to finally get a competitive AA (think of Israel players for example) and bring balance in favour of ground players, and we, the community, should have the right to complain and express our concern.
If it is for “balance” then be upfront with it, and just say, “we are limiting the capabilities of these systems until SEAD is ready”, and they are only doing this to stretch content out, I can’t think of any other reason.

To be fair, while it’s true that is worst kineticaly is better at everything else, it does not give any warning unless you have a maw, can easily engage multiple targets at once, its impossible to noch/multipath, FnF, flying low wont help either because of its vertical launch and you dont need to reload like the vt1. It is obvious that speed is the only way they have found to try to balance it and somewhat justify it by claiming that there are no relaible enought sources and they can made up the number they want even though it is clear that mach 2 is not correct. Iris T slm has the potential to outperform all the AAA by a large margin and they want to avoid it. This was not a concern when pantsir was added though.
