did you perhaps already look the the post from yesterday with the iris-t SL speeds and new sources? were realy none of them atleast a secondary source?
it feels like you are our only hope here
the fact that we dont know if it was an actual tech mod or just a alpha QA team tester that denied this makes it hard to tell how legit the “not enought info” is
we’ll never know i guess
gunjob seems to be fair, and as far as i can tell he had a look at some other reports that were initialy declined ( from people that realy shouldnt be allowed to do so in my optinion, example:
Spoiler
claiming diehl itself isnt a primary source
)and then accepted
i hope they fix these SAM systems. but i don’t have much hope though
76 kg vt-1 that transports 13kg of explosvies at 1250 m/s.
Gaijin logic:
big missile = slow
Fun Fact, Tor M1 and HQ17 Missiles are bigger and heavier but faster then the SLM Missile
Here is the link to that report btw: Community Bug Reporting System . I realized the post you replied to didn’t have it linked and there are so many messages in here and so many links that finding it would be a bit of a hassle so i thought i’d link it :)
Devs response: Thank you for the report. After the review, the source talks exclusively about DIRCM, very limited information about laser IRCM.
Incoherent DIRCMs are indeed ineffective against IIR seekers. However, laser IRCMs are designed to blind such seekers. Thus, the influence of laser IRCM on IIR seeker is an intended feature.
However currenting in dev server, the effectiveness of laser DIRCM is too high. by the release of the patch we will slightly adjust the necessary time and distance for successful suppression of seeker with IIR.
We are also considering adding limitations to DIRCM to suppress multiple missiles at the same time, ie, it should not be possible to suppress more missiles than the number of turrents available at the same time, but this will take time.

Those are obviously marketing lies.
Was this source not included in the report, or are gaijin devs just willingly ignoring OEM statements on the system again?
Edit: Nvm, just checked the bug report and it quite literally states this along with linking the info.
@Gunjob any chance you can talk to the dev and ask them if they have eyes, or if they just forgot to read the section where it explicitly states the IRIS-T’s seeker is highly resistant to LDIRCM?
They seem to have selective vision and have made the executive decision the bug report mentions nothing about lasers (how convenient)
Looks like it was to me
Report: “excellent ECM resistance also covering modern blinding LASERS”
“In practice, DIRCMs struggle to track, aim, and apply sufficient LASER energy to blind or significantly degrade such sophisticated sensors”
Response: " very limited information about LASER IRCM"
“However, LASER IRCMs are designed to blind such seekers. Thus, the influence of LASER IRCM on IIR seeker is an intended feature”
did i miss something or it just doesn’t make any sense ?
the IRIS-T SLM was designed to effectively hit targets at 40km range
->gajin: yes but actualy we dont want that
DIRCM to make heli imune to IRIS-T
→ we dont know much about it but it for sure works, it was ment to stop missiles after all!
… just what is going on here man…
As an additional sidenote, “incoherent DIRCM” is an oxymoron. If the system is directional, it cannot be “incoherent”.
The dev is just throwing random words to try to throw people off and make up an excuse for why the fancy new russian force-field they added to the game is totally real and not just them wanting to keep the russian helis viable while all other nations helis become worthless.
they need to do like
DIRCM need to aim at a missiles for atleast _ seconds before making missiles to lose track and become ineffective
higher resistance missiles = higher time threshold
Example: FIM-92K, DIRCM would take 1-2 seconds to lock on to the missiles and take 3-4 seconds to make the manpads missiles become ineffective
But AIM-9X, DIRCM would also take 1-2 seconds to lock onto the missiles BUT now require 7-9 seconds to shot the missiles down
Higher stuff like SLM would take 25+ seconds
the worst part, its already hard enought to get anything to the devs in the first place, and then they respond with half answer as to why this and that
i dont see the SLM beeing good since the devs just made up their mind apparently even if we get infomration past the tech mods to the devs, they will shoot it down themselfs
