No, I didn’t say 1.3 Mach at 27km…
I said an average speed of Mach 1.3 during the whole flight phase.
If the missile holds speeds in excess of Mach 1.3 during the first part of the flight the missile can fall short of that speed at target impact.

After seeing the video I think one of the main things we should try to resolve is the lofting of the missile and the thrust of the engine.
It burns 3 second too long, but doesn’t loft anywhere near as high. If the missile were to loft to 10-12km like Diehl says it did, then it would lose far less speed due to less air resistance at altitude. Couple with the boost from gravity.

Well alr mb, but from the video you see, that even if the target flies in a straight line, it already has below MACH speed at just 12km. So why even use it? FlaRakRad will just perform way better
IRIS-T will perform better at closer ranges, specially while it still retains energy and since it’s FnF and IR guided they won’t know it is coming. But honestly, the performance at range is bafflingly bad.
And the funnier thing is, Russia will continue to play as if nothing happened. Because they are the only nation equiped with a long range standoff weapon, while everyone is stuck with slow AGMs and JDAM/Gluide bombs.
The combination of the increased spawn range and the GNSS buff to Kh-38 means that all they have to do is look for your radar, place a POI down, flank around the map and spam them at close range where they won’t have enough time to even react.
So top tier won’t change at all, and it doesn’t help that maps are too small for these systems to even be efficient in any meaningful way.
SLM and other systems are DOA.
and the “don’t stay in the same spot” argument doesn’t work anyway since the totally real warhead on the Kh38 will splash NATO sam from >100m away lmao
if anything this update will help kh38 users since NATO players will swap their vehicles for these things that are less effective and easier to spot/kill
They wont perform at better ranges. As long as enemy starts making sharp turns while the IRIS-T still goes up, they will 100% dodge it. Test it for yourself
And that’s not all! Ever since the Kh-38ML got GNSS , they can be launched from the airfield (while barely taking off the runway), without you not needing have a LOS on the target at all, and they will fly all the way from 15 or so km from the runway to the ground map, it is busted.
So this means people are gonna be launching these like artillery from the safety of their airfields XD
did they change that? the AASM with IR+gnss cant do that
because it’s IR + GNSS, try the laser one
yeah and the size of these vehicles narrows down the locations where they can exist
they can but they are way slower and easier to spot and destroy
