I don’t think the idea is very interesting, Iran’s air or ground military units are lacking, but as a subtree I can say it could really be a good thing if they brought everything Iran has into the game…
Ground is actually very complete, except for very low ranks, but its not the first TT with that issue, and we can fill the holes in the air TT with subtrees.
I also find kinda weird that as an iranian you want to see you country as a subtree …?
Would fit better in the Soviet tree, but other than that it would be much better as a independent, also Iran doesn’t operate the Su-25T
Iran operates SU-25, SU-25K, SU-25UBK and an Iranian equivalent of SU-25SM1, but yeah no SU-25T
Both the Su-25K’s and UBK’s were upgraded by Iran to a equivalent standard to the SM1 variant. Using largely domestic Air to Ground Guided ordinances and avionics

How about this modified t55 with a type 59 130mm gun,i think it should be called t55(130)
This is so fucking ridiculous i need it
Since we were talking about aircraft, I’ll take this opportunity to introduce one of the MANY Iranian drones, the Shahed-149 Gaza :
Intro
The Gaza is a UAV similar in concept to the MQ-9 Reaper, developed domestically by Iran despite the sanctions and unveiled in 2021.

Adding the Gaza would be the gateway to Iran’s vast drone arsenal and would be an excellent alternative to Russian, Chinese, or American drones in the game.
Btw the Pirooz can use Almaz ATGM (Iranian Upgraded Spikes, the Amlaz 4 has between 25 and 35km of range in the best conditions) and has a top speed of 130 ~140 km/h.

Since we all love fast vehicles, this one can be the ultimate light vehicle

I love the idea for this for a few reasons, and I was honestly going through the process of making a suggestion for it myself before finding yours. I think this would be a great option because it would help to lessen the Western lean in terms of the nations already in game since the only true Eastern-leaning nations currently are the USSR and China (and even China is split between equipment of Eastern and Western origins). It would also provide more regional representation to the Middle East. However, I think the most interesting thing that could come from it is the possibility for a subtree of insurgent or non-state actor equipment. They’d obviously have to avoid mentioning real-world organizations (games like Squad have taken a similar route) due to the absolute nightmare of a political firestorm that could bring if they were included by name, but that could give them a way to add technicals, which could prove to be especially interesting now that infantry is coming to the game. I think that last point, while the most interesting in my eyes, is probably the least likely. Iran is definitely in my top 5 when it comes to what tech trees I’d like to see added in the future, with Egypt (+Arab League), Poland (+Eastern Europe), Yugoslavia (+Post-Split Balkans), Brazil (+Latin America) being the other 4 (also Korea, but they already confirmed that was coming). I’m a US main primarily, but I play everything, so I love seeing more variety in both what I use and what I face.
Seeing as we have infantry at some point, maybe the
T-55 ZPU-4 can find a way to work in game as anti infantry?
I know you removed it from the tree for being impossible to balance but perhaps this might give it enough of a very specific niche to work with?

(Also perhaps any Iranian MRAPS and UGVs if they have any?)
Just wanted to share a few thoughts on potential Iranian tech tree Subtrees, in case they’re helpful. (≧▽≦)ゞ

Why Do We Need Iran and Its Subtrees?
War Thunder is a realism-oriented game that is fundamentally structured around distinct national factions.
However, at the current stage of the game, there is a serious lack of factions capable of balancing the Western bloc. At present, Russia and China are essentially the only nations that can be considered non-Western major powers. As a result, battles have become highly homogenized, frequently devolving into internal Western-versus-Western conflicts, which significantly reduces gameplay variety and long-term interest.
As the game’s timeline continues to advance, moving steadily toward modern warfare and with Infantry gameplay expected to be introduced in the future, Iran and its associated subtrees clearly represent one of the most suitable options:
-
Iran belongs to the anti-Western camp.
-
Iran is a principal adversary of Israel.
-
War Thunder currently lacks sufficient representation of vehicles from the Middle East. The inclusion of Iranian subtrees would allow for the integration of a substantial portion of Middle Eastern vehicles. In particular, due to decades of prolonged conflict, many armed groups in the region operate highly distinctive, improvised wartime-modified vehicles (DIY or “technicals”). These vehicles do not fit well into any existing tech tree in War Thunder, and the Iranian tech tree would provide the most appropriate home for them.
⠀⠀
As Israel’s primary regional competitor, Iran is also a significant military-industrial power. Some dedicated players have already outlined comprehensive blueprints for a potential Iranian tech tree suitable for inclusion in War Thunder. Therefore, today I would like to propose several countries and factions that could reasonably be introduced as subtrees under the Iranian tech tree:
-
Syria – Assad Regime 🇸🇾
-
Lebanon – *Lebanese armed group 🇱🇧
-
Yemen – *Yemeni armed group 🇾🇪
-
Palestine – *Palestinian armed group 🇵🇸
-
Iraq – Popular Mobilization Forces 🇮🇶
-
Geopolitical Relations – Afghanistan 🇦🇫
-
Geopolitical Relations – Qatar 🇶🇦
-
Geopolitical Relations – *removed 🏴☠️
-
Geopolitical Relations – *removed 🏴☠️
⠀⠀
(Although the *removed 🏴☠️ is hostile toward Iran, this does not necessarily prevent it from being included as part of the Iranian tech tree—much like the relationship between Taiwan and China within the game. Moreover, it is not impossible that the Islamic Republic of Iran could, in the future, fragment into multiple localized factional entities, creating opportunities for other forces, such as the *removed 🏴☠️, to expand their influence.)
⠀⠀
-
Geopolitical Relations – Somalia – *removed 🇸🇴
-
Geopolitical Relations – Somali Pirates 🏴☠️
-
Overseas Cooperation – Sudan 🇸🇩
-
Overseas Cooperation – Tajikistan 🇹🇯
-
Overseas Cooperation – Libya – Gaddafi Regime 🇱🇾
-
Overseas Cooperation – Pakistan 🇵🇰
-
Overseas Cooperation – Venezuela 🇻🇪
-
Overseas Cooperation – Cuba 🇨🇺
-
Overseas Cooperation – North Korea 🇰🇵
⠀⠀
(Just as Canadian vehicles can appear in both the U.S. and British tech trees, Pakistan and North Korea could simultaneously exist within both the Chinese and Iranian tech trees; similarly, Cuba and Venezuela could be shared between the Soviet and Iranian tech trees.)
