Introducing War Thunder Wiki 3.0!

Love that we finally can compare vehicles… but cmon… more then very very basic stats would be helpfull… in this current form is pretty… useless. Change it and i will love it.

Total engine thrust and Power/Weight would be nice information for the comparison to include

Any way to show the rating of specific authors? I usually dont trust the “average” rating for very good reasons.

also any way of only seeing the topics created by authors i follow? i dont want to see the rest.

what would be better is for people to write a written review with a “Overall Rating” stat to sort by, and the ability to “Find a review helpful” and be able to sort by new and most helpful, would provide more useful than the bars, even though these bars are still very useful

checking the rules right now…
it appears we will have highly moderated and not very informative author texts…

i was hoping for smt more personal… and not historically… cause i want to know about the vehicles performence ingame… not some random real life facts…

but we will see… will creaty my own text for a few vehicles and will see what goes through in term of personal opinion and preferences.

according to the wiki rules, we will not see reviews… just random facts… but lets test it.

but yes. i want that too.

I don’t expect anything from this ratings.

The majority of players aren’t able to rate any vehicle objectively.
Think about BR changes, loadout changes, ammo changes.

Yes, I could migrate all of the texts, and I could spend endless time posting it anew, but it would no longer be part of the main article on the vehicle, be easily ignored, and it still doesn’t change the fact that you can’t edit articles if you notice that they contain errors or omissions which in all honesty is one of the base functionalities of any wiki, because the new wiki only allows the original author to make any changes to their article.

This is no longer a wiki, this is a ‘social media that just purports to be a wiki’, and completely misses the point of what a wiki is supposed to be.

And on top of that, it is something that came without any announcement or warning, just something that dropped and basically became an irreversible fact to all authors, users and editors. The second in a matter of days, after the changes to the game user profiles that not only changed the interface, but also removed complete chunks of information.

Can you please tell the people in charge that a Wiki is supposed to be a place where information is shared, corrected if it is wrong, or added to when it is incomplete by other users, and not a series of disassociated social media posts that can only be altered by one person, and ‘upvoted’ or ‘downvoted’ according to ‘popularity’?

Not just that… think about player skill levels… what they expect from a vehicle, how they use it… and so on…

That is absolutely true, this is not a wiki anymore. But the old version was also not really good.

The new version is basically some facts about the vehicle and then if ure lucky some articles that people have written below it.

But i see it like this, it may give people the chance to write articles about the vehicle based on their own expirience and others can follow these people they like and get the informations they need and want, instead of some random guy writing half true stuff into the wiki.

The question is just, how bad or good will gaijin moderate these articles… will they just delete all non positive articles like they do in the homepage comments?

If they dont, then this can lead into something really nice, something that will make the game better and that will motivate people to write good articles that players want to read. And ofc articles that rate vehicles based on the authors opinion, which is good.

Would love to see some people write some good articles about the vehicles, as we dont have real statistics of vehicles, thats the best way to inform yourself about a vehicle before u buy or grind it.

Does anyone knows how to do a “block-delimiter” to separate topics in the articles?

Honestly, it is incredibly stupid that none of it was transferred over.

How do you actually rate a vehicle? I don’t see any interactable options in the “Rating by players” tab.

a good change congrats!

The new “Information” page is straight garbage to me, I was compelled to come on here, because I was just getting ready to fly a plane I havent flown in a while. It fits the whole current thinking, it list the armamament, etc…but nothing from pilots who have flown the plane, its pros, cons, I guess the people they are trying to attract dont care about that anymore, they just want to shoot and play Call of Duty in an airplane, straight garbage Info page. This game is starting to cater to people who do not like to think, if that makes sense. Just a “shooter” mentality. Just like the new Player Profile, straight mobile phone marketing approach to me.

I went to look at a plane, but there arent “enough ratings” yet, I guess they have picked this up from Google Reviews or Facebook, used to be a military combat game. Wow!

Hi, I’ve seen you post similar things on other platforms too, and I just wanted to let you know that I genuinely enjoyed reading your work when you submitted it to the previous wiki - a number of them were (and still are) on my list to be transferred to the new wiki, but unfortunately I never got a chance to get round to them before the wiki got released.

The only reason that you were never rewarded for your contributions is because you were not part of the Wiki Share Program, which is the only group that we could give rewards to. One of the major changes with the new wiki is that everyone who contributes is able to earn a GE reward.

History “sections” continue to be a part of the new wiki, both as part of comprehensive overview posts on vehicles and as standalone history posts. You can find a collation of them at #history | War Thunder Wiki

Hi, if I buy that Wiki pack, how does it support you?

All articles are manually copied from the old wiki, and up until the release it’s been done by a handful of wiki team members.

If you’re so dissatisfied, feel free to pour these feelings into transitioning the articles yourself, you’ll also get the reward for them

When starting a new paragraph, click on the “add” context menu on the left (looks like a +) and scroll down within it
