Turn out it’s the “Auto restricts aircraft near the ground” that was re-enabled from the update “Line of Contact”

Again? wdym, it’s the whole reason pointer aim even works.
On simplified controls it still overrides it.
Before, it wouldn’t. Until a couple updates ago.
Now you have to use real controls which is hell to use on controller vs the pointer aim of M&K
No it isn’t?
It is. It’s like flying sim.
Nope
Wait do you even rudder roll?
Care to prove that theory of yours? Instead of merely saying “nope”
What theory are you talking about? all I said was flying in sim with a controller wasn’t hard and most would definitely say M&K without a stick is harder than simply using a controller.
^This btw
theres a big difference between this setting which is basically just the mouse aim switch

and these buttons

which your clip looks more like you had autocontrol near the ground on, because virtual instructor is basically just an anti flat spin control and doesnt really force many controls on your aircraft
also in terms of sim, controller is definitely better than mouse and keyboard
Ah yes. Apparently with the update, that is what was apparently set to on.
Thank you for being helpful.
every now and then they all randomly get enabled oh well
Lol, I got caught by that as well, I was trying to torpedo bomb and my plane started flying sideways and I couldn’t change the direction my nose was pointed.
At least in naval there are no trees for it to fly you into.
Yeah I would’ve been fine in every scenario, but I couldn’t roll because of the instructor, and thus WHAM! Right into a tree
