Yes but operator country is more important only IF subtree is already present in game. Manufacturer/designer is more important only if operator country is not yet present.

Generally this is due to little to no Japanese military exports especially in the modern day, but that doesn’t mean they never exported anything to Thailand.
Thailand is probably the biggest historic user of Japanese military vehicles (maybe tied with Indonesia) ranging from WWII exports like Ki-27 and Ki-43 fighters, Ki-21 bombers, Ha-Go tanks and more, but also to modern day exports like the FD-25 Defender (the only armed vehicle Japan exported after the war) or KH-4 helicopters.
Sorry, I stepped out for lunch earlier. After returning, I reviewed past discussions and realized I might have mixed up your comments with others’. It seems some people consistently ignore the various political issues present in WT, insisting it’s just a game and has nothing to do with politics.

A game like this will always have politics. National flags, split nations, etc. The difference here is what is actually relevant and what is not.
They always steer clear of confirming or denying vehicles. But it probably will come.
