Since we’re getting infantry mode in War thunder, Please focus on some aspects:
Strong language, blood and gore: This is gonna be a popular war game now and I’d love to see it competing with battlefield game. by allowing panicked, use of strong language during combat situations and of course with some blood when soldiers are hit or dead. please ditch Enlisted. The voice acting in Enlisted is horrible, makes it looks like modern CoD game.
Change the game age rating
Weapons detail, and Animations. Animations can be a bit janky as seen in Enlisted. but let’s hope Gaijin devs can work things out and produce the finest thing.
its obvious enlisted is kind of used as a testing area for applying the same concept to war thunder. gaijin was never shy of admitting that ultimately, war thunder was supposed to be a game that had every aspect of warfare in a single battle. their grand idea, is ground, air, and naval, combined on a single battlefield.
foot soldiers were the next step in evolution. they had the perfect oppertunity to test the limitations of the engine, and expand the tools neccesary to make an fps foot soldier game. now they are ready to implement them for real.
all i can say is, war thunder isnt as big as battlefield. sure, alot of people are playing it, but not by the count of the hundred of thousands that play the more established games. but that can change once they do add soldiers. as long as they dont create a game that is too much milsim. i can totally expect gaijin to add arteries to the human models and you have to push a thumb up your wound to stop the bleeding, like you have tank modules. individual organs getting hit. they need to keep in mind, the average gamer just wanna shoot a gun. not worry about milsims.
with call of duty being more and more of a failure. cod 8 being a fever dream one of the developers once had when he was a kid, we all globally acknowledge, cod is dying. and all those players need a new game to fill the gap.
If we are expecting a similar mechanic to Enlisted, as much the bots won’t do wonders by killing enemies or engaging targets safely, it definitely isn’t dumb to throw itself forward and shooting everything that moves, combined with commands and synchronised movement, it should work as expected.
I also played back when they didnt have nations per se but campains, didnt like it either, and if the AI hasnt been improved i wont like it, it was really bad.
Look at the squads as at spare respawns for you without sitting at the respawn menue.
Its the same as a “respawn on teammate” mechanic from other shooters, but rather you respawn in your soldiers. So, some people will try to use them as a weapon, some will try to use them as a respawn. Both ways, I hope, will have their advantages.
