With the Recent announcement of Infantry and expanded tech trees to War thunder one can only wonder is this some sick April Fools joke or are they teasing something big?

Lol, im Ganna run them over in my 2A4M, it wouldnt bother me if infantry was added. I would hope they could open and close doors to the buildings.

It could be testing like what they did in previous events, because ambient infantry would be a pretty interesting addition.
The april fools event is WWI, and there is ambient infantry in it. I’m not sure why WT would go the FPS route when enlisted exists.

It’s a joke, they’ve done it before. This is from 2017’s April Fools event “Rank IX”
8 years later, as you can see we still don’t have F-22 Raptor, Su-57 or the T-14 Armata

Honestly ive been wondering the same thing, but they did do something similiar with the last event (the soviet robot one I forgot the name) where they said theyd add them to the tech tree. But that was much more far fetched and they said it was april fools. For this it seems to be too much to just be april fools but thats just me. It probably is just april fools though, most of the time april fools is one big event ingame, one minor event ingame, and a post on the gaijin website that makes the playerbase wet (but is never added). The infantry probably falls into that last catergory

honestly if you could spawn as infantry for low SP cost and it was like the strike drone it could be a good addition to keep people in matches longer and prevent one death leaving

Did we get them during Rank IX event? No. That’s just the natural progression. My point was that they have lied on these news before, so don’t take their upcoming “large-scale closed beta test” for infantries news seriously.

I think it probably is april fools, but I feel like it is weird that the event gamemode is based on WW1 because that is very different than this announcement and iirc normaly the april fools stuff is pretty clearly related

Yeah, im thinking the exact same thing. Though for sure it aint real, it 100% is there to test some feature. Usually the feature tested isnt obvious (ie mobile infantry tested spikes)

they have baited us before but that is a really bad example because most of that could be true (the only bit false is M1A2 is already in rank 8 and was in rank 7)

They’re probably testing the infantry, but only AI controlled ones in trenches, not playable. We might see them add those for all maps in the future.
