tbf if we look at the full list of vehicles theres quite a lot of domestic and unique variants for Indonesia

here’s the ratio of vehicles:
image

Copy Paste: 17
Unique Variants of standard vehicles: 16
Domestic Design: 17

so I would say relatively its not too bad, but Indonesia being combined with other nations (like an ASEAN founding members) is the best option i think

I personally really want to see the Harimau, Badak variants, and Cobra which are among the few purely domestic designs found in ASEAN and are not just unique modifications.

I agree, it would be nice if Indonesian tech tree is combined with asean. Because it feels too big to be combined with the Japanese tech tree. But we do still a sub tech tree to fill the Japanese tech tree. cuz my only problem while playing with Japanese tree is i don’t feel like the Japanese had enough vehicle on it’s tech tree, It just feel empty and have a potential to be filled with some vehicles from other country.

I too agree, Indonesia has a decent amount to offer but would definitely be better off as a major contributor in an ASEAN tree.

And Thailand will be an upcoming subtree for Japan ground, it’s just a matter of how badly Gaijin butchers it lol

Here’s another potential addition, the P6 ATAV: It’s essentially Indonesia’s answer to the VLEGA Gaucho. It uses either a 7mm Minigun or a 50.cal RCWS as the primary weapon. It can also mount LGR’s shown below. Also there are references of it using ATGM’s and AAM’s, which exact ones idk other than it can use them if the situation calls for it

the turret of the P8 was also recently fitted with a rocket pod, seems quite modular

not putting the image here just in case, you can check yourself on twitter though

they were planning on an MLRS SAM system for the tank as well, hopefully itll be revealed in June during IndoDefence

found some footage of the Army’s Alvis Saladin (pre-retrofit w/ foliage camo) firing & maneuvering during an exercise in the 2000s.

footage(s)

there are also other Alvis vehicles used in the exercise, such as the Stormer APC & AVLB as well as the FV Scorpion

Humber MK.4 Modification?

image

the standout thing is obviously the roof MG , is it a Vickers or a Browning? (honestly I cant visually tell the difference between the two)

but another interesting thing is it seems to be modified as the ammo for the MG also seems to lead to a new box on the front of the turret where the lamp+smoke shells would sit, the lamp is also moved to the right-hand side of the turret and the smoke shells seems to be removed,

there are also some inscriptions written on the tank itself, “Bung Karno –” something something and the bottom text is completely illegible to me

Comparison

I’d say it’s a Vickers MG, because of the muzzle device and you could also barely see the fluted water jacket.

Water cooled Browning’s do exist though you are correct that it’s a Vickers MG

PT Pindad will officially send 18 Pandur combat vehicles and 12 Anoa units as part of the rejuvenation of combat vehicles for Indonesia’s peacekeeping mission in Lebanon | KERIS

the Army seems reluctant to actually use it lmao. But it is a significant upgrade for our troops compared to the BTR-80As and Anoas that they have currently, so its definitely a positive

Amazing paint job. Does the UT30 have the option for ATGMs as well?

it does! However I dont think Indonesia uses that configuration unfortunately. In essence it’ll function similarly to the VBCI-2 we already have ingame, but with an additional Airburst round, since it uses the Orbital ATK bushmaster variant

Whats Gaijin’s policy regarding UN camos? Would love to have em especially French ones which are ubiquitous in UN camo lol

no idea honestly, but it does seem strange that no UN camouflage are in the game when they’re literally one of the easiest to create and implement since its basically just full-white camo with UN markings

Theres another suggestion to add the Turkish TT, Indonesia could be a great subtree if its added

honestly id rather see either Japan or Netherlands (France) get them since both have a bit more tangible and closer relations historically than any other nations.

France has been a key ally for us throughout the years since we’ve purchased (and will purchase) a shit ton of Defence equipment from them and the historical Netherlands link make sense, but France has a lot of domestic vehicles to be added, as well as the addition of BeNeLux, so vehicle wise they’re not really out of options.

Japan meanwhile is quite barren in comparison, and I just don’t see how Thai vehicles are adequate enough to complement the absolute state of that tech tree (no offense). With our historical ties its not too far fetched of an idea for us being grouped up with Japan either and there wouldn’t be too much opposition within the country as generally the former colonizers isn’t entirely hated.

I feel those two nations should get priority first. For Turkey it falls onto the same category as South Korea for me, where we’ve done Defence equipment collaborations, but that’s basically it ( I mean Aceh sultanate did have a somewhat close diplomatic relations with the Ottomans but that was literally over a century ago).

Don’t get me wrong our cooperation has been steadily increasing as of late, but is it currently as close as with the Netherlands or Japan back then? most likely not. In the future it might, and I hope we are that close in the future, but currently those two I mentioned before are the most compatible one I’d say

TLDR personally i would put the ordering as such

Netherlands(France)/Japan > France > Turkey/SK > other nations

but this is just my personal opinion
