Independent South African Tech Tree & Jordanian Sub-Tree

Found an interesting upgrade done by BAE South Africa (Land Systems OMC), a BMP-1 with a TRT-25 remote weapons system, largely advertised for African countries that already use BMP-1’s but also to other BMP-1 operators if needed

Could be an interesting premium or event vehicle since it’s a tech demonstrator and upgrade package for foreign export

Thought it would be like the Ratel 20 Milan but that is still funny and cool

Never knew they tested the ENTAC on the Eland 60, would prefer the Eland 90 ENTAC though.

Mamba

It’s actually a Mbombe 6x6

Try looking for the black and white images, they reveal a lot, like how the gun is a GA-35 and the big commander sight on top

Very cursed but probably a nicer cockpit as well

Thanks for specifying and clarifying that

I know that South Africa had ENTAC ATGM’s in stock and there were mentions of that ATGM tested on an Eland 60 specifically. No mentions of it being used on the 90. Doesn’t really matter that much anyways since the ENTAC performance wise is closest to something like a Type 64 or Bantam. Be highly effective when it connects but be incredibly slow and the vehicle being vulnerable to a counterattack due to the Missile being MCLOS

As a side note. Apparently there’s another proposal to mount a 35mm on a Ratel except this one not only gives it a 35mm but also the old turret is completely replaced with a brand new one

Judging by the design of the turret it may be able to use in an anti-air role, cannot entirely confirm that though. Likely be unmanned on top of it due to the lack of space to fit anyone in that turret. The specific Ratel chassis in question that had this turret was called the “Lobo”

Yeah they tried the ENTAC as they had plenty and the Eland 90 was becoming obsolete when defeating things like T54/55s, so they tried adding the missile in an attempt of making it worth while keeping but not much can from it, the wires would be cut after too much time or just by random bush so later the ZT3 used beam-riding.

Haven’t seen that first picture in a long while, the second one is what I was thinking of.

I have a picture of the Lobo that I used for my home-screen slideshow on my laptop but then the feature stopped working. Back to the LOBO, I think it uses a GA-35 like on the ZA-35 but this may have been the 35mm gun for the NGICV project that switched over to 30mm because of corruption (the whole story is related to Zuma and the Gupta family, all fucking up the military and country). I assume this was a proposal as a cheaper alternative to the program (their were several competing, even a few types of upgraded Ratels {e.g. the Lobo} but the project failed and the came to the Patria series cause of wasting of budget, I can explain but it would take a while.

TL;DR I think this is from the NGICV project and is the final form of PEAK Ratel, was considering making a suggestion for it but based on the Ratel and with little onfo on the sights or ammunition that Gaijin can give it might make it hard to push forward.
