I would like to add that the turret of the Scorpion Kastet is of Ukrainian origin and one of 3 Scorpion upgrades that Jordan did, there is another one that uses the original turret that has being modified with 2A72 30mm and Kornet ATGM’s and another one with a new turret from Alvis
Scorpion Scimitar
Here is a Scorpion Scimitar without the ATGM’s
Scorpion Alvis
There is also the Tariq BM-AB-13, a Tariq MBT converted into a Heavy IFV/ISV with heavily modified BMP-2 turret done jointly by Jordan and Ukraine
The Temsah APC especially is very iffy about whether or not it is functional. It’s based on a very heavily modified Centurion chassis that has been flipped backwards (you can see the engine deck and drive wheel are at the front of the Temsah), so it will need to have been completely refitted with a new engine and transmission etc to even have basic mobility, none of which is documented, and I don’t think its ever been demoed non-statically, which is not a good sign.
There is also the MAP-II/Al-Dawsar APC’s which are Tariq’s modified to be APC’s and like with the Temsah can utilize a RCWS with a ATGM (Kornet E more specifically)
Wouldn’t be too surprised by that if it was true since the South Africans did help them develop some of their weapons such as the Al-Manjoon and Al-Fao SPG’s for example
I believe the Al-Faw kit was a domestic Iraqi modification. And hey you never know, this may be the Iraqi vehicle for the leaked world war mode we saw a week or so ago, there was the Iraqi 1963-1991 flag also leaked. My hopes are the Lion of Babel T-72M1 with EO or the T-55 Enigma.
The Al-Fao is a Iraqi evolution/Sub-variant of the Al-Manjoon which is pretty much an Iraqi built G6 Rhino with some different specs to meet Iraqi army specifications
Perhaps War thunder can create an entirely new independent tech-tree that focuses on Africa, instead of grouping it under European countries. There are plenty of African countries that can be bundled together signifying African unity. Special commemorative decal to Nelson Mandela can also be created. In this way the traditional concepts off power dynamics can be reshuffled.
One of my genuine questions is, how are you planning to take out South Africa out of the Great Britian?
Other than that I think this would be a pretty good idea. +1
