Inaccurate weapon operation for balance - SPIKES

I would take that Freccia in exchange for higher BR.

when they get an ammo box, or the tech tree terminator goes to 13.0

Are you telling me you can’t head the initial launch sound or the insanely loud gliding one?

Wild but alright

I don’t know how you can hear a Spike missile launched at you from a kilometer and a half away, or even hear it flying, when tanks are constantly rumbling right next to you… Maybe if you’re sitting tucked away in a corner with the engine turned off, then maybe you can hear it…

Because I have a headset?

Audio distinction isn’t difficult with any hardware above 50€

Don’t justify yourself, camper. ;)

or sit behind a hill/sand dune.

Apparel top attacks can be countered with a little lump of dirt.

What is this bait???

I am a fairly aggressive player, and play relatively poorly armoured & flank-centric vehicles.

You can hear them on the move just as easily as when stationary, the more you reply, the more i’m convinved that you don’t play with headphones

With WT’s bugged sounds, sometimes tanks 100m away drive completely silent, but somehow you can hear a Spike flying at you for 6 seconds and its launch sound from 2km away…

A specific missile with a unique sound isn’t going to be affected by the same bugs affecting track and engine volume.

🤔

Of course it won’t be affected. Absolutely. 100%. Trust me.

I decided to grind the new CRV and was really exited to finally use spikes but holy crap. Those this actually have to be the worst weapon I have ever used in my 1600hrs of playing.

I doubt they will ever get modeled properly due to the selective realism with russia so I will just stick to playing russia and not branch out anymore to other nations.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever read.

So in your brain you think that shooting a tank straight on to its armour at a flat angle is better? You do realize armour is specificly designed to be strongest when its angled from a flat angle? further more thats where most ERA is which is what this missile will fight and the top of a turret has way less armour then the front armour of a tank.

reaction-funny
Spikes have been broken for 2 years. They just need to change a number in the codes to the number they gave LMURs but choose not to lmao.

That’s gonna be the next thing they gonna do knowing them

800mm tandem HEAT warhead would consistently penetrate most tanks anyways, ERA or not. It’s not a question of penetration as much as it is a question of damage. For low TNT equivalent mass warheads, hitting from the top simply won’t do much good.

We’re also assuming that the missile comes from the front. With missile coming from the side or rear, there is practically no chance of nonpenetration (aside from getting Gaijined), and spall damage needs to go through the tank, not down and exiting through the underside. It may work decently for CN/RU MBTs, but Western high-tier MBTs are too spacious for a high target elevation angle, and attack would just miss the crew especially due to lower spalling of HEAT.

It’s not dumb when you experience using Spikes, PARS 3/TRIGAT LR, etc, and see the common disappointment of a hit that takes out the driver exclusively, the tracks or the engine, or just the breech. Higher loft angles make maintenance of target lock easier (for fire-and-forget missiles), and can be used to avoid APS, but that comes at a tradeoff. The best option would be to have toggleable trajectory modes for all missiles which have them, which would allow players to react dynamically according to the situation.

If the tandem part functioned. It currently does not. Top attack with proper targeting and spall formation mechanics (again, also absent from the game when it comes to HEAT ammo) for these missiles would be perfectly functional even despite their small warhead mass.

None of those are in the game now, except for LMUR that literally doesn’t need the top attack part to kill stuff.

Yeah if the trajectory is changed to be top attack then that’ll help a little but it doesn’t change how spikes have only have like 1.3kg of explosive mass to do damage with in the first place
