Go do a protection map of any heat round in the game vs the ztz88’s then do the same with the t55am, it isn’t even close. On top of that it has an aps at an absurdly low br. It’s strategically placed at a br where it will perform the best and that’s what I said in my post. I have 200+ games in this thing and I’m telling you it is too low a br currently.
HEATFS isn’t the primary projectile at 8.7, APFSDS is.
Only Britain is firing APDS at 8.7.
I own the T-55AM-1 as well, and am good in it.
That’s irrelevant cause every single 9.0 in the game is vastly superior to T-55AM-1.
Not a single 9.0 MBT is on-par with or worse than T-55AM-1.
The t55am performs just fine at 9.0 I have it in my lineup along with the t62m1 and the object 279, it has a good atgm, good protection including an APS, a good apfsds and the same mobility as basically every other Russian mbt in the br range
As for the answer to the question. The Su-25s with their S-250 rockets are quite annyoing in GRB currently, those probably need some tuning. Also their IRCM is really really annoying in some aircraft ,especially those less suited for gun fighting.
I also basically hate playing the 10.0 Britain ground line-up, even though its really good, because of the soviet tanks it faces constantly at that BR are really really unfun to fight against. Some of those tank way more than they should.

Using an inferior vehicle as backup doesn’t make it that BR in capability.
T-55AM-1 does not have APS.
Yup decompression is the bigger issue. The F-5E sits at a weird spot with other 10.7-11.0 jets like the J35XS and J7E. They greatly outperform jets at or below them in BR, but get shut down in uptiers as the focus shifts to BVR and powerful missiles.
You could probably fill 2 or 3 BRs with just the jets between 10.7 and 11.3. I dont get how Gaijin have let this problem get so bad

The am gets additional armor and the amd has an aps, that’s literally my point, both tanks are immune to heat and get constant downtiers, that is why they shouldn’t be 8.7, even if SOME 9.0s are better it is the best 8.7 and it’s not even close
AM-1 is not immune to HEATFS, and “constant downtiers” is anecdotal at best a guess at worst.
ALL 9.0s are better than AM-1, all of them. Not a single 9.0 is on-par with AM-1 in capabilities cause all are superior.
Faster/same or better armor, better ammo, thermals, etc.
Have you ever stopped to think that it might be better than all 8.7s?
It should never face anything below 8.0 period. That is why everyone considers it undertiered.

You’re telling me that the t55am is worse than something like the OF40, or the XM803
Heat is literally the main round used in 7.7-8.3, and guess what, this thing is practically immune to it, it is almost impossible to fight this thing especially at range with something like an m60a1, as it doesn’t have a range finder, has a worse round, has no ATGM, has worse speed despite being western. Like the t55 isn’t even comparable to something like that
Out of the 213 recorded matches I’ve had, only TEN, TEN FUCKING MATCHES were full uptiers, that is not fucking annecdotal
ONE IN 20 GAMES IS AN UPTIER, AND I STILL MAINTAINED A POSITIVE K/D IN EACH MATCH
Like I’m sorry this is just not a fair vehicle to play against, I record my stats specifically for this reason, there is no way a vehicle should be performing this well in uptiers and downtiers, no matter the player. I put it #1 because it’s the vehicle I have the highest K/D with above BR 3.7, it is absurd how amazing both the AM1 and AMD perform. The ztz88 at 8.7 was no where near as good as this thing is in its current state with the armament options and excellent armor
Yep, the top attack launcher is slightly higher than the turret, and the commander view is the same. I’ll let you imagine how that thing can be abused. Knowing that some terrain features on some maps are just the perfect height…

If you think 8.7s shouldn’t face 7.7s make that argument instead.
The best 8.7 MBT in War Thunder is AMX-30B2 or T-55M.
T-55AM-1, M60A1 RISE [just as fast as AM-1] has a better round it trades for normal rangefinder, and Shot Kal Gimel & Strv 104 are all similar enough to each other.
The worst 8.7 is Object 122MT, and even that’s almost the same power at T-55AM-1.

The vehicle you are good with as an individual is the most overpowered vehicle. Each person will have their own claims.

It is one of it, if not the best 8.7, but it’s not a 9.0 vehicle.
The whole BR range of 7.7 to 10.0 is compressed to hell and Gaijin haven’t fixed it.
As a sweden main i present the Ush-405 a absolute monster with high mobility and firepower can lolpen anything. If used right it can easely wipe half the enemy team or voilate an IS-7

Somehow I knew right away someone would argue with you and defend the 2S38. I just figured it would be @AlvisWisla being the first one to do it. These guys would have a heart attack if somehow something were to convince Gaijin to nerf their precious 2S38 that holds their hands.
